Since may center table naman sa living room, doon na lang namin dinala ang mga pagkain imbes na pumunta pa sa kusina plus nanonood pa din naman sila ng tv.
"Hoy! Kayo ha! Do you think that I can't hear you two! Ha! Ekis! My ear has a wide range kaya sorry na lang." nag-iinarteng sabi ni Leica pagkaupong-pagkaupo ko.
"What? I didn't say anything bad." Perseus said as he sits besides me.
"Sinong sadista ha!" Leica said and points the fork to Perseus which made my left eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, I wonder who." sarkastiko kong pagkakasabi saka nilipat ang tingin ko kay Leica at saka sa tinidor.
At the middle of fork pointing, biglaan namang tumawa ng malakas si Calix na katabi lang ni Leica kaya napalipat naman sa kanya ang tingin naming lahat.
"Ibaba mo na nga Leica 'yan. Alam naman nating lahat na kakasama sa--" Leica cut off Calix' right away by pointing the fork on his way.
"Kalma lang tayo guys. Pangspaghetti ang mga tinidor, hindi pantutok." Calix said and laughed nervously.
"Alam mo ba Perseus? Napapadalas ang mga asaran ng dalawang 'yan." Greg teased.
"If I were you two, I'll stop that before it turns into something romantic." gatong naman ni Abby na may pagkindat pa.
"It'll never turn like that, ok? I think two couples in this group is already enough. 'Wag nyo nga akong maasar-asar dito kay Calix!" Leica defended
Calix nod in agreement, "Tama sya!"
"Right! I remember something. Diba Greg sinabi mo sakin na nakita mo si Esia sa university nyo?" singit ni Perseus na ikinatigil naman ni Calix.
"Well, If I'm not mistaken that must be Esia." sagot naman ni Greg.
"I think I saw her too." napapaisip ko namang sambit.
I saw her when I was about to get the results of my exam. Actually, I was able to caught a bit glance of her so I'm not that totally sure. Siguro pagod lang din ako non dahil sa mga sunod-sunod na exams but if Greg saw her too then maybe it is really her.
"Akala ko nga din si Esia 'yon pero hindi pala. Hindi ko ba nabanggit yon?" sabi naman ni Calix.
"For sure, the girl's already happy in heaven so maybe its our tum-tums' turn to be happy now? Look, I'm sorry if I'm being disrepectful pero gusto ko na talaga kumain." Leica immediately said to clear out the upcoming gloom.
We all know that we'll just start a dramatic conversation about the tragedy and I'm sure that there's a part of Calix which is still hasn't move on from the scene even though it was a long time since it occur.
"Mabuti pa nga! Let's eat!" masiglang sabi ni Abby.
Nagsimula na kaming kumuha ng sari-sarili naming mga pagkain--
Wait. Erase the "sari-sariling". I forgot that I'm next to the lovey-dovey couple of the group and they just caught my attention because they are doing it again. Y'know the lovey-dovey couple thing; si Greg ang naglalagay ng mga pagkain sa plato ni Abby while Abby is watching Greg with her sparkling eyes.
Kahit sa canteen na magkakasama kami sadyang ganyan na ang akto ng dalawang 'yan. Minsan nga umaayaw na sadya ako makisabay sa kanila pag alam kong ako lang ang makakasama nila. I don't wanna do the thirdwheeling! May boyfriend din naman ako ah.
So back to the scene, I already know what's next; magsusubuan na yang dalawa habang binababy talk ang isa't isa so Imma switch my sight now.
Sakto pa nga namang pagbaling ko ay ang pagsalubong namin ng paningin ni Perseus. Medyo nagulat naman ako sa biglaang pagtatagpo ng paningin namin.
His plate is still empty despite of the fact that he's already holding the serving spoon.
He cutely blink three times before attempting to speak.
Uh-oh. Please don't get the wrong idea.
"H--"
"Just go get your food." pagputol ko sa sasabihin nya.
He once again blink in three series before looking away and filling up his plate of food.
"Hayst. Alam nyo guys, I prefer talking 'bout some tragic moments back in the game than to hear Greg and Abby babytalking to each other." nakangising sabi ni Leica.
"I understand. Ganon ka kabitter eh." bawi naman ni Abby.
"You know? Sometimes I want to include your baby talking moments to the tragic ones just like how Calix broke his only knife in level 32." biro naman ni Leica.
"Masakit na pagkakataon yon ng buhay ko. Kung maari ay kumain na lang tayo ng mapayapa at isantabi ang mga bagay na iyan." sabi naman ni Calix.
Nagtawanan kami sa akto nya. He's like one of those voice actors acting in an old theater when he's doing it like that.
"What the hell Calix" I said between our laughs.
"Bakit? Ginaya ko lang yung pananalita nung paborito kong filipino teacher ah! Alam nyo bang isa ako sa mga gumanap na prinsipe sa ibong adarna!" gatong pa ni Calix na syang mas nagpatawa sa amin.
More talking than eating. That's the scene today. We talk about the good stuffs while setting aside the tragedies in the past and that's what's exactly making me happy right now. Just the whole of us having fun. No more danger or monsters. Just us fulfilled with happiness.
