You carefully turn your body's position to grab hold of a new branch. Once having a firm grip, you hoist yourself up then quickly sit to rest. After a tired breath, you dare to glance down, shivering at the sight of the almost fifty-foot drop.
"Isn't this high enough?!" You ask desperately, looking up at Link who's already about nine feet higher than where you are and he's still climbing, too.
"No, we have to keep going until we get to the very top!" He chuckles, halting his effortless climbing to spare you some attention, "It isn't much further!"
"...For you maybe..." You mumble under your breath, staring back at the ground once more.
Link frowns upon seeing your hesitation. Turning to where his back faces the tree, he lets go then allows himself to fall for a split second before opening his paraglider. Gracefully, he lands on the same branch as you while you visibly cringe, wondering how in Hylia's name he's able to do stuff like that without any second thoughts. Even sitting securely on this branch, you're stiff with fear.
"Here," Link offers you a hand and an encouraging smile. With a deep breath, you take it, although you also take your time actually standing, making sure to keep your back pressed against the tree so that there's less of a chance you end up losing your balance. Once you're fully on your feet, however, you're suddenly tugged forward, making your heart skip a beat.
Link makes sure to keep an arm wrapped securely around your waist, chuckling softly at your reaction, "I have an idea. Just hold on tight, okay?"
"I-I don't know -"
"- I would never let you fall, (Y/n). I promise."
You bite your lip in anticipation for whatever this 'idea' is of Link's, not fully willingly to trust it seeing that his last idea was for you both to climb the Great Deku Tree in the first place. Nevertheless, you allow him to move your arms around his shoulders and hold on tight once he moves to grab the paraglider again.
With a slight bend to his knees, a powerful gust of wind suddenly surrounds you dazed with teal colored lights. You open your mouth to argue, realizing exactly what his 'idea' is now and not being up for it at all, but it's officially too late. Within a split second, the two of you are sent into the sky with the help of a familiar technique mastered by Revali.
Link smiles, his cheeks dusted in red due to both the cold breeze that whizzes by and the way you hold so tightly onto him, your legs now wrapped around his waist and face hiding against his shoulder as you let out a scared gasp upon take-off. Once just above the blossom-covered top of the Great Deku Tree, the wind of Revali's gale stops, allowing you to start gently drifting back down.
"Look how beautiful Hyrule is," Link whispers against your ear, his eyes focusing on the distant view, although you refuse to so much as peek open your eyes, shaking your head stubbornly against his shoulder.
"N-No!"
Chuckling again, Link turns the paraglider enough to manage a safe landing on one of the highest branches of the Great Deku Tree. Despite having stopped on a steady surface, you continue clinging onto Link for a few seconds longer. It's only when completely, one hundred percent sure that you're on something stable that you cautiously loosen your grip and stand on your own pair of shaky legs.
"See? That wasn't so bad," Link keeps hold of your arms, leading you to sit down beside him on the tree branch. You do so gratefully and without question.
"No, that was terrible! I never want to be in the air like that again..." You grumble with a shiver, refusing to let go of his arm or move any further than an inch away from his side, "If I were meant to be in the sky, I'd have wings, you know!"
