She was dancing.

Barefooted.

Jongin watched her from the doorway. He was confused, but also amused, on finding a mysterious little girl dancing like there's no tomorrow. She was gliding gracefully, following the lead from a melody which he guessed coming from that tab on the table. She didn't noticed him, probably because she's way too focused on listening to the music.

Jongin didn't know her at all nor why she was in his room, but he couldn't help but watching her little body move. It's been a long time ago since the last time he studied ballet, but as a seasoned dancer, he could say that little girl's moves were on point. Yet, also didn't lose that eloquent and ethereal feeling that ballet dances were famous for.

In other word, it was perfect.

The first song ended but Jongin didn't want to announce his presence to her just yet. He watched her suddenly grip the table in front of her, ignore the next song, and try to do something he didn't expect.

'Is she really thinking of doing pointe when she doesn't have her shoes on?' Jongin thought, his heart suddenly filled with worry over the mysterious little girl. 'She could hurt her feet.'

He saw her struggling, letting out a small 'ouch' sound but didn't stop trying despite the fact that she obviously didn't know how to do it the right way.

"You can do this, Jinri. It's super easy." He heard the little girl say to herself.

So her name is Jinri.

Before he could think much of it, his voice came out, "On the contrary, pointe is hard."

It startled the girl, making her fall to the ground bottom first and Jongin swore he could hear something crack.

"Ah, that hurts..." the little girl whimpered, rubbing her backside.

Jongin quickly came to her aid, kneeling beside her and immediately checking her. Seeing her reddened toes, he couldn't help but inwardly wince. It will definitely turn blue soon.

"Are you okay? Do you need ice?" He asked the little girl. He was feeling guilty because he was the one who startled her and made her fall down. But she shouldn't be doing pointe in the first place if she didn't know how to do it, Jongin thought.

Instead of answering, the little girl whose name was Jinri just stared at him straight in the eye. Dumbstrucked.

Nothing can describe what Jinri felt at that moment, looking at the man in front of her, the sole reason of her trip to South Korea. She felt herself choking up and no words entered her mind. If this was a scene out of those Sunday morning cartoons she usually watched, there would be fireworks animations drawn above her head, all lighted up and bursting with happy colors.

'GOOD GOD HE'S HERE!!!

RIGHT

IN

FRONT

OF

ME.'

"Are you okay?" The man asked again. His eyebrows creasing in confusion.

"Kid?" He called her again after getting no response.
