Everything is fuzzy and I struggle to open my eyes, the side of my head aches and I'm disoriented for a minute.

"what in the-" I say trying to touch my head, but it's then that I realize that my hands won't move.

"you're awake, good " my eyes fly open and my head snaps to the direction the voice came from

"wane " I say, squinting at him in confusion

"What happened? How did we get here? "

He just stares at me and it's then that I notice his hands aren't bound like mine and he's holding a dagger in one of them.

My eyes widen, everything before I passed out coming back to me

"you knocked me out? " I say but it comes out like a question and he nods

His eyes are empty as they stare at me and I'm still so confused, he doesn't look like himself at all.

"what is this, what's going on? Who are you? " I ask, struggling against my bonds and he shakes his head

"don't try to struggle kiara, you can't break free from those "

I fix him with a betrayed look

"what are you doing? I don't understand, I thought we were friends! " I yell and he laughs

"friends? Oh darling no I don't have friends, I did like you at first though, but then you just had to be somehow related to the emperor " he says and my gaze snaps to him, entire body going rigid.

"what are you talking about? What do you want from him? "

wane smiles and leans back on his hands before looking back at me, and the look in his eyes is so cold and bitter that it shocks me.

This is the person that's been around me for over a month?

"I want him dead " he says and the blood drains out of my face

"w-what are you talking about? why him, why me, who are you?? "

I gape at him in shock, trying to connect this image of him with the person I'd known for over a month,

"I won't let you hurt him " I grit out, glaring at him and he laughs
