" your bruises are gonna hurt alot, and your ribs should heal completely in roughly 4 weeks from now. I'm putting you on medication now that you're awake" the physician says, standing over me with a gentle smile on her face,

I smile back

"Thank you " I say and she nods

"There is a slight problem though. your ankle, It's still badly swollen, you won't be able to walk on your own for a while, you'll have to use crutches, I handed them to your brother on my way here "

I bite my lip "how long? "

"Same time as your ribs, your body really went through a lot, it's a miracle you're alive really " she says softly and I wring my hands together,

It was like the pain had mercy on me yesterday, but today it feels like I'd been hit by a ship.

"His highness seems to care a great deal about you " she suddenly says and I blink at her in surprise

I realize that there's really nothing I could say since I was literally receiving treatment in his bedroom,

But then she smiles again

"stay healthy miss kiara "

When she steps out the door, azumi comes in, tera in tow.

"how are you? " tera asks with worried eyes and I smile at her

"I'm fine "

"The physician said you'll be needing crutches " tera says eyes sad and I squeeze her hand.

Azumi comes closer, crutches in tow and an apologetic look on his face

"sorry baby sis" he says and I sigh

When I walk into our quarters after azumi, tera by my side, it's to four sets of eyes who immediately crowd around me and I laugh in surprise

"God kiara you had us scared "

"oh darling, your leg "

"Aunt kia!" Aria says demanding my attention and I look down at her little hands wrapped around my feet,

She grins at me

"hey darling "

"missed you! " she yells and all the adults start laughing

The men get talking about whatever it is they talk about later on.

But it's not until aria falls asleep and her mum has her tucked in my room that she and tera really bombard me with questions.

"so, you both slept in the same bed last night, didn't you?" Tera says and I blink at her, Lia giggles

"Tera she has broken ribs, don't tell me you really think they got up to something? "

Tera waves her off

"I'm sure he would have been very gentle if they had "

That's when I snicker

"okay, oh my God. girls slow down, nothing happened" I say laughing,

"I'm so happy for you " lia says eyes shining

"took the both of you long enough " tera adds smiling and I smile too

"you needed to have seen him when you weren't awake, he was always so worried, even though azumi didn't make it any easier. He took it in stride, I never thought he'd be so soft " she says giving me a knowing look

Lia laughs

" Soft? The emperor? I think that only applies to kiara, he's normally really intimidating"
