To close for comfort
●▬▬▬▬▬๑⇩⇩๑▬▬▬▬▬●When Shoto woke up, he was greeted with a beaming ray of sunlight right onto his face. He grumpily sat and rubbed at his eyes, taking some time to adapt to the sudden brightness.
From what he can tell, the sun has already risen. There were still remnants of faint yellow hues as the familiar blue grew more, Shoto taking time to admire the pretty display. The clouds broke the smoothness of the sky, staring at the colored clusters.
Once, he was well adjusted he glanced around the camp noting he was one of the last ones to awaken, not that he was complaining. He scratched at his head spotting what the others were doing, Hizashi seemed to be occupied cheerfully making breakfast over the fire and humming some type of song. Aizawa was sitting on log eating said breakfast, accompanied by Iida who seemed to be ranting about something.
He stood up slowly, wanting to make his way towards the familiar group until his gaze went onto the small group surrounded the glass cage. Gazing at the crowd muttering amongst themselves, looking like kids at the zoo for the first time.
"Woahh, He's not as pretty as the singer but he's still kinda cute," Kaminari commented, faced pressed against the glass to examine the mer's features. The glass fogging up due to his closeness, Izuku a bit taken aback by the childish display.
"Yeah he's pretty good looking, look at those freckles too! And those eyes!" Kirishima exclaimed happily before a certain blonde smacked him in the back of the head.
"Oi quit your fanatical talk already! He's not that special, lots of people have freckles!" He shouted angrily, glaring at his two comrades.
"Awee is someone... Jealous?!" Kaminari announced, before shortly being chased around by an angry Pomeranian.
"Get back here Dunce Face! I swear I'll kill you for real this time!!" Bakugo yelled, small explosions going off on his palms as he chased the other. One can barely miss the soft tint of blush on his cheeks.
They ran around the camp and into the shrubbery and bushes, Kirishima just nervously chuckling as he hurriedly followed the duo. Shoto just huffed and continued his way towards the others around the fireplace, sitting down on a rock nearby.
"Ah, look what the cat dragged in! How was the beauty sleep?" Hizashi chirped, happily giving Shouto a plate of eggs. "They might be salty since we didn't bring much food from the ship so."
Shoto nodded and proceeded to dig in. "Thanks, I'm sure it's fantastic," he replied with, realizing the eggs had more issues than added salt, the crunch it gave proving so. Also, with the prominent depiction of burnt edges across it.
"Since you're up, we should finally start heading out back to the ship and leave this horrid place," Aizawa announced, already getting up to get everything going. "The dirt isn't comfortable at all for my back." He grumbled, marching off towards another group.
"That old grump, I swear he never just relaxes a bit, but don't tell him I said that!" Hizashi commented, before beginning to clean up the cooking supplies and putting out the fire.
"So Shoto, are you excited to finally head back—" Iida's question was caught off by the sound of a loud shriek, and broken glass. All heads darting up, Shoto jumped before making his way to the unbelievable scene.
The first thing he noticed was Bakugo standing amongst the shrubbery as he peered onto the sight, mouth gaped in shock. What was it, you may ask? In front of Bakugo lied a clearly stunned Kaminari, sitting above wet dirt and tiny shards of glass, which didn't phase him at all. What had his attention, was in fact the mermaid next to him which was flopping and squirming around like a fish out of water.
