Blurred Visions
●▬▬▬▬▬๑⇩⇩๑▬▬▬▬▬●It all happened a couple of days ago, by now Izuku was gone for nearly two weeks already. The Mers went through a flurry of emotions at first, but managed to feel calm and reassured with the vision of Izuku's destined return.
However, there was a certain merman who felt otherwise once he heard the news. The Holy Mother had to tell Toshinori herself, afraid if it were anyone else he'll lash out accidentally out of anger, which of course he did.
Kayama struggled even trying to force it out, yet after some time she managed for the words to finally slip past her lips. 'Izuku's gone,' was what she said, and those two words alone made the old man crumble to the floor. Toshinori lived long enough to know what happens to mermaids who are "taken" away from the bay, he's heard the stories and myths, he's even seen it for himself.
The mere image of the young boy he helped raise, the one he trained and mentored to the best of his ability, the one he saw as a son, being chained and abused like some animal made his heart practically stop. Toshinori was quick to react, blurting out curses and desperately pleading on whether the boy was safe or not.
Kayama quickly interjected with the prospect of her vision and her caring words of advice and support. Although the old man managed to calm down, he still felt uneasy about the whole situation. He understood visions from the Opal were practically set in stone, but he would only believe it when he sees it for himself. Thus, Toshinori would commonly be found sitting solemnly at the edges of their city, waiting for Izuku to come home.
_________"What do you mean, the vision changed?!" Toshinori's voice roared throughout the entirety of the room, intense emotions swirling in those sunken blue eyes.
"T—Toshinori, I'm going to have to ask you to remain—"
The Holy Mother tried interfering, but the blonde wasn't having any excuses except for the truth."Explain, I'm not going to waste any more time unless you tell me precisely what happened." He seethed, his aggression even calling the other girls in the room to flinch, including the Holy Mother herself. The 1-A Zodai were also called to this meeting and in a way, thankful Toshinori was the one to say what was on their minds.
Kayama took a deep breath, refusing to make eye contact with the others out of pure anxiousness and quilt. "It happened yesterday... It's normal for visions to change but only when someone acts on it, like if I predict a future outbreak and the Stellar Maidens conjure up a cure beforehand.." She explained, fumbling with her fingers slightly as she went to continue. "I—I thought that it wouldn't change since we didn't act openly to avoid or interfere with it..."
"So, what does that even mean? If we didn't change it then who did?" Yaoyorozu asked skeptically.
"I believe—there are other forces at play, and now every time I even try looking back on it, the opal just shows me a murky pool of dull colors waiting to be rearranged," Kayama suggests, content that Toshinori didn't speak up on his emotions, simply glaring at her intently.
"I'll find him myself then, it'll be pointless to just sit around here and not do anything." Toshinori quickly comments, already beginning to turn around.
"Toshinori! the trip from here to the region is a week-long at best, your tail is too weak and worn-out to make such a trip alone, and even then your wounds would further complicate you as you continue." Kayama reprimanded, her voice sympathetic as her eyes wandered over his scarred tail.
"What about us then?" Uraraka suddenly asked, turning the heads of her sisters who looked at her like she did something blasphemous.
"Hey! I'm not going to some human island!—" Mina tried arguing, but Jirou already slapped a hand over her mouth.
