Shoto stirred awake due to the sound of faint splashing sound. The prince sat up groggily as he rubbed at his eyes, examining his room under the morning light. Eyes wandering over every piece of furniture in search of the noise, until the lightbulb finally flickered on in his head.

All the remnants of sleep spewing away as he jumped out of the bed, only in his sleepwear as he made his way towards the bathroom. Opening it promptly, finding the source of the sound from before.

Izuku seemed to have been in the middle of a morning-stretch, depicted with his arms and tail flaring out of the waters. Shoto thought that the image reminded him of a cat stretching its limbs.

The action ended with Izuku sighing in relief, a small knock from the door turning his attention towards the prince standing against the wooden doorframe.

"Did I interrupt something? I heard splashing and thought something might've gone wrong." He asked curiously, noting the way the other's eyes widened in surprise.

"Geez, how long were you standing there?" Izuku commented, only winning a smirk and shrug from the prince who approached the sink.

"Just got here, I only saw that—stretching? Is that a normal thing?" Shoto stated, reaching for his toothbrush and beginning his normal morning routine as he turned the faucet.

"Ah, I just felt a bit sore since it's kinda been a while since I've had a tail, since the whole leg thingy happened," Izuku explained, earning a soft 'mhm' from the other whilst they brushed their teeth. "But, also since this bath is still pretty small." He remarked, grinning towards the other.

Shoto simply rolled his eyes at the statement, finishing up as he spits out the water, reaching forwards to the mouthwash. Izuku examined the procedure curiously, eyebrows furrowing.

"What are you doing? I don't remember you doing that yesterday." Izuku chimed in.

"I did it last night, it's called 'brushing your teeth', it's to clean your mouth basically." Shoto stated, glancing over to the mer, "Do you want to try it?" Izuku perked up at this, eyes glimmering in curiosity.

Shoto expected for it to be a calming process, a bonding moment he called it, but he didn't expect for the mer to be flailing around as if he stabbed him.

"It's nasty, take it off, take it off!" Izuku wailed, attempting to turn his head away from the other but failed miserably.

"Your breath stinks, it'll be over if you just—stay-still!" Shoto declared, trying to brush away at Izuku's teeth with a spare toothbrush he found. He must've not smelt it before, but up close he can see the abundance of tiny bits of food stuck between the teeth.

The prince sighed defeatedly, he took the toothbrush away, grimacing at how Izuku immediately spits out the remnants of the condiments.

"I can't believe you do that for a living, it's like I ate something spicy, and I hate spicy!" Izuku snapped, only for Shoto to hand him a small cup with a blue-ish liquid inside.

"If you won't let me brush your teeth, then at least use this, you put it in your mouth and—Don't swallow it!" Shoto shouted as he lunged at Izuku. He was too late as already a faint gulp was heard, the prince instead falling into the bath aswell.

That was how Shoto's morning, having been drenched in water from the bath. Thankfully, he opted to take a shower entirely as Izuku chose to wait outside. The mer was even kind enough to drop off clothes for the prince to wear once finished.
