Flashing Lights
●▬▬▬▬▬๑⇩⇩๑▬▬▬▬▬●After their private discussion, the two went on to fulfill the task they originally left for. They walked aimlessly through the fended streets, at least that's how it felt for Shoto. The prince was practically a foreigner, only relying on Iida's judgment and knowledge of the place to guide them.
Eventually, they visited a good number of booths or stands, Shoto being the one to carry the treats and goodies whilst Iida stormed away. If he didn't know any better, he would've thought Iida was the prince and him the knight. Yet, he couldn't complain when he's the one paying.
The knight was also useful since, besides being the one paying, he was essential to striking deals, to begin with. Shoto now coming to the realization that people naturally from a different place, obviously would speak a different language too, as most Elves in the district spoke their native tongue freely.
After some time passed, and the skies laid in a seamless midnight-blue with faint tints of purple and pinks. Its rays dying out, as only the tallest of buildings or trees managed to still bathe in the fleeting light. The duo making their way back to the plaza with two full baskets in hand, they've also noticed that the space was much more filled than before.
It was filtered with many occupants looking to end the night calm and peaceful, with of course a spectacle of a show. With the new numbers, it was difficult at first to pinpoint their two friends, especially with the rainbow of hair colors splayed out before them.
This type of situation was all-too-familiar as they once again had to search for the pair, Shoto getting some serious deja vu. He looked to Iida for any help, who also seemed to shrug in lost and plainly opting to retrace their steps.
They couldn't even try listening for them, since there were tons of young kids and children chattering loudly together. Accompanied by drunken adults arguing and hurrahing over some discussion, and others simply gossiping discreetly to the sides.
Shoto was thankful he brought his cloak with him, hiding safely within its hood as he curiously searched the area. His observations were cut short as Iida from beside him yelled loudly into the lively air.
"Mei!? Izuku!?" He shouted out, only causing some heads to twist in their direction, but none of his friends. Expectedly, he cried out, again and again, resulting in only four more chants until the lucky two finally came in view.
Izuku was the one radiantly waving his hands at the duo to catch their attention, a beaming grin on his freckled face. Shoto could've sworn that if he looked long enough, he can see actual light coming from it. Surprisingly, they were in a different placement then from when Iida and Shoto left, which clearly didn't go unnoticed by the Elf boy.
"Why can't you two simply be decent enough to not move every five seconds!?" Iida chastised, Shoto beside him as he still held the filled baskets.
"These little kids wanted to sit on our spot since it had a clearer view of the sky, so we moved for them!" Izuku answered merrily, seemingly delighted with his kind action as Hatsume nodded in clarification.
Iida's stern manner quickly softened, as his mouth fell open. "Well, since it was for a good reason then I'll let it slide, but next time don't you two run off without telling us!"
"Oh! Are those some Kita Cookies, I didn't know they were selling today!" Hatsume blurted, dismissing Iida's words as she impatiently launched for a basket. Shoto simply stood there in an impassive manner, allowing the girl to swiftly grab the one held in his left hand as she recklessly scavenged the treats within.
