Chapter thirty-seven✓

"Wakey wakey."

Olivia's eyelids were so heavy, it hurt to open them like they had been woven shut. She was cold, goosebumps danced along her skin accompanied by small shivers traveling down her spine. Liv groaned as she fully opened her eyes, seeing that she was still in the same room as before. But it was different. The environment of cement walls, broken windows were blurred as if her eyes had not yet focused.

"Ah, look who came about."

Olivia clenched her jaw as she braced her hands against the chilled floor and pushed herself up. Her heart dropped into her feet as her eyes fell upon the clothed demon that had been haunting her ever since the sacrifice. Dread filled every part of her body as she took it in in all of its glory, basking in the darkness that shrouded them. At this point, she was mostly used to the demon, well, as used to it as you can get around the thing. It's always in her line of vision no matter how hard she willed it away. Of course it still scared her absolutely shitless, it just didn't make her freeze in fear anymore. Instead, she endured it.

As she stood up completely, her head throbbed violently for the second time today. Wonderful. Olivia wobbled for a hot second and then regained her balance.

"What happened?" she asked, unsure of where she currently was.

"Well, I can't have you out and about, ruining our plans, can I now?" It smiled slyly, causing another round of shivers to slide down her back and make her straighten uncomfortably.

'Our plans'. It said 'our'. Olivia shook her head in response, too terrified to think of what that could mean for her.

The thing continued to shuffle around.

"It's just better for us if you didn't mess this up like you always do," It seethed.

Anger pooled in her stomach as it talked about herself like it knew her.

She was stunned at its bold remarks and confidence (if that's what she could call it). Stunned as it said that she was basically a mistake. It wasn't saddening, but it made her want to punch the cloth right off its meekly bones.

"What the hell do you want with me? I'm useless for god sake!" Her voice held nothing but violence that wanted to form into knives to stab the wretched thing standing only five feet away from her.

In a blink of an eye, the figure was right in front of her. Olivia didn't dare let out the breath she was holding.

"I want you." It snarled into her face. "Do you even know how much power you hold? They call your kind "Mass Destructors"." It studied her facial expressions as her eyebrows drew together. Olivia didn't even know the demon could make facial expressions, but ever so subtly, the form of shock carved its way into the cloth wrapped around the mold of its face

It scoffed coldly like it couldn't believe how clueless she was. "You don't even know how to control, no less, know about them, don't you?" It asked.

Olivia didn't move. It was true that she didn't know much at all about her abilities and that she had many questions, but she hasn't had that much free time these past couple weeks. All she knew is that she could shake rooms and that was it. Literally.

Olivia didn't know why her life was living hell, why this demon was taunting her endlessly. But why her? It was a question that burned its way to the front of her mind, a burning desire to know what was so special about her.

"Why me? Why are you so persistent to secure me as your puppet? Please do share with the class, because I'm just about dying to know." Literally. Olivia's eyes burned into where the dent of its eyes were.
