Chapter 25~ i just need space

Lauren's pov:

I woke up in Jason's car. He was driving.

" w." I tried to talk but my voice was raspy.
My stomach sorta hurt and my legs felt stiff. " j." I looked in the backseat and Ryle was there.
She was sleeping soundly. " wha?" I whispered.
" get me out of here." I whispered as I tried to open the door.
" what are you doing! " he asked as he slowed down.
" what's going on!" I tried yelling.
" we are on our way to Miami, my sister is meeting us there to pick up Ryle, there was a problem in Canada." Jason said.

" like what..." I asked.
" darriss bombed my moms house, Ryan and Jessica are going there , He is going to check things up, how are you feeling?"

" how do you know?" I whispered cause my throat hurt.
" Brandon said there was a email."
" so you believe it? What if it's just a set up! Jason think! What if they know we are going here!" I tried getting out the car again.
" Lauren seriously stop!" Jason raised his voice to a tone I've never heard before.

" where's Derek?" I got upset.
Jason looked over at me.

"There's something I need to tell you." Jason said as he started to tear up.
" what?" My voice cracked.
" he was shot 4 inches away from his heart and died this morning." Jason said.
" what." I looked at him with fury in my eyes.
" Lauren you can't get mad at me for this."
" why didn't you save him Jason!" I raised my voice but it wasn't affective.
" Lauren I couldn't, I couldn't just pull a bullet out of his body, it was there, and he was gone." Jason's voice cracked a little.
" wait today isn't the same day you got me!?" I asked confused.
" no it's December 1st today." Jason said.
" my birthday is in 6 days." I whispered to myself but I guess Jason heard.
" I know." He said.
" wait who killed him?" I asked.
" darriss, the one who did that to you, and also jakes cousin. Also the guy who did the bombing." Jason said.
" jakes cousin! Are you kidding me,jake like my ex and ex leader of redhawk." I was shocked.
" yeah."

" did you kill him?" I asked as my voice cracked again.
" no." Jason looked over at me.
" what, he is still out there!" I asked trying to clear my throat but it hurt.
" when Derek fell to the ground I dropped down and tried to help him Lauren, darriss then ran out." Jason said upset.

" I want out." I said as I tried to open the car door.
" Lauren stop!" He child locked my door.

" no Jason, I don't want him to get me again!" I said scared.
" Lauren I have told you since day one that I will protect you, nothing has changed. I don't know what you're worried about! He won't ever touch you again. I promise you. I have never broke a promise with you and that will not change." Jason said as he turned off the highway.
" Jason theres going to be a moment I'm not with you, and that's when these people get me. I can't do it, I'm scared." I looked at him.
" of what?" He asked sternly.
" I just am." I said as I looked at the road, it looked familiar.
" are we in Florida?" I asked surprised.
" yeah we left the house right after you passed out yesterday." Jason said as he turned on his street.
" are you tired?" I asked.
" I'm fine, are you okay?" Jason asked as he pulled into his beach house.
" I guess I'll be fine, can you please unlock the door." I asked looking over at Jason.
He unlocked it and I got out.

It smelled so fresh outside. I love it.
When I got out though my stomach hurt and my legs hurt bad.
I sat back down in the car and just held my head in my hands.
" she's sleeping." Jason said as he walked over to get Ryle.
" how Long did she stay up?" I asked crossing my arms.
" she stayed up all night talking to me." Jason said as he picked her up.

" I'll shut the door just bring her inside." I said as I slowly stood up. " are you okay Lauren?" Jason asked as he turned around.
" I'm fine just bring her in." I said holding onto to car.
" call me out if you need help."Jason said as he went in the front door.
