"You are the beta female!" Cassie squealed.
"Calm down Cassie! You are destroying my ears!" I laughed.
"Who's the beta female?" Mike asked.
"Our little Reanne!" Cassie squealed again.
"I thought Seth was little!" I whined.
"I am a man now baby girl," Seth laughed.
"You are the beta female?" Mike asked looking at me with mouth open.
"Close your mouth bro before you get any flies in your mouth," i laughed.
"My sister's all grown up!" Mike exclaimed.
"I thought men didnt cry," i teased.
"I am not crying!"he exclaimed.
"Hey! Dont tease my mate!" Cassie exclaimed.
"You need to rest. The doctor said too much stress will harm the baby," Mike said.
"You sound like mom," Seth laughed.
"I dont know about you but i am hungry," i said the delicious food aroma filling my nostrils.
"I am starved," Cassie said rubbing her stomach.
"I will get you your food," Mike said.
We went to the food stand. I was vusy putting food on my plate when some of the girls from my pack came to me.
"Well look who it is girls," one laughed.
Her name was Lilly and she was my enemy since we met.
"What do you want?" I asked not wanting my mood to be destroyed.
"What are you doing here alone?"she asked tauntingly.
"Picking out her misery by getting fat," Wendy laughed.
"Actually she is your beta female. Show some respect," the sexy voice of my mate said.
There was a collective gasp from the girls.
"How come you get so lucky?" Lilly snapped.
"Because i am not like you," i said simply.
"What do you mean not like us?" Alice asked.
"You should know the answer yourself," i said not wanting to pick a fight on this beautiful day.
"Come on Reanne," Jay said.
I followed him to a corner table for two.
"Thank you," i said simply.
"I would do anything for you my little wolf. You dont need to thank me. You are my responsibility now," Jay said.
I blushed and looked down. I felt Jay's large warm hand under my chin and looked up as he lifted my face up.
His beautiful grey eyes looked at my boring brown eyes.
Jay was so hot. He had thick black hair that fell over his forehead and his unique beautiful grey eyes. I cant believe i landed myself the perfect match. My heaart started beating again in a fast rhythm. He was so gorgeous. Words were hard to define.
"What are you thinking?" Jay asked.
"How i am so lucky to have you," i smiled.
"I was thinking the same thing," Jay laughed.
"Reanne!"someone squealed my name.
I looked around and saw Alicia running towards me. In all honesty i had forgotten about her.
"Hey," i smiled and hugged her back.
"This is Ryan Mullen from the Swift Pack and my mate," Alicia said as a man came to stand beside her.
He had blonde hair and blue eyes but not as hot as my Jay.
'Definitely not as hot as our mate,' Elisa said smugly.
'You know you sound like a mother hen?' I questioned and she laughed.
"Hi," i smiled.
"Swift pack? Your Alpha is Drew Norman?" Jay asked.
"Yes and you are?" Alicia's mate asked.
"Reanne's mate and Beta of the Red Glare pack," Jay said standing up.
"I have heard a lot of good reports of your pack," he said.
"You mean to say you wouldnt have accepted me if that wasnt the case?" Alicia asked.
I could see that she was hurt.
"No i would have accepted you either way," he smiled at her.
I cleared my throat and said, "So what are you going to do now?"
My question was directed to Alicia and she knew that.
"She'll move with me of course," Ryan said.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked frowning.
"I cant leave my mate. That doesnt sit well with me;" he said firmly.
"You cant do that!" I exclaimed.
Why wasnt Alicia saying anything?
"Calm down little wolf. Thats understandable," Jay said.
I stared at Jay in surprise. How could he side with Ryan? Alicia belonged with me! Here in Red Glare pack!
"Reanne i would like a word with you," Alicia said calmly.
I looked at Jay and he smiled at me understandingly. I had such agood mate!
"Look Reanne i am not leaving you forever. I will come visit you every chance i get. Promise," Alicia said.
"But thats not the same," i pouted, not yet ready to say goodbye to her.
"Hey! We will talk all day!"she said.
"Thats still not the same," i said.
"Dont worry Reanne. I will still be there for you," she said soothingly.
"I am going to miss you," i said my eyes filling with tears.
"I am going to miss you too," she said.
I hugged her back tightly and she hugged me back as well. I cant believe i will not be seeing my bestfriend like i would like. And that sucked.
"Ok this goodbye is making me edgy," Jay said making me laugh.
"We are not saying goodbye," Alicia said.
"More like see you later," i gave a small smile.
I am going to miss my best friend. She had been my rock through these 17 years.
"Hey what about school?" I asked.
Alicia couldnt just abandon her education!
"She will attend my school," Ryan said.
"Oh," i said in a small voice.
"Well lets go back to dinner ok? Before it gets cold," Jay said putting his arm around me.
"Sure," i smiled at him.
"I will see you at the pack house," i said to Alicia who nodded.
Jay and i walked back to our table. I picked at my food as i thought about Alicia leaving the pack. Leaving her family. And mostly me. Who would hang out with during the day? Who would listen to me blabber about things?
"Thinking about your friend?" Jay asked making me look up.
"She's my best friend Jayden. We have gone through so much," i sighed.
"Well you dont need a best friend now Reanne," Jayden said.
I looked at him quizically.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"You have got me. Mates are supposed to be best friends because they are the ones that never hurt each other. Either physically or emotionally. They are always there for each other," Jayden said making my eyes fill with tears.
"Oh Jayden! Nobody would go to so much trouble as knowing me," i said.
"Thats because as your mate its my responsibility to look after you just like i look after the pack. I am the only one who could keep you safe and protected my little wolf," Jayden put his hand on mine.
By this time i was in tears. This was too much and we had just met.
'Our mate is so considerate,' Elisa sighed.
'Yeah. How did we become lucky?' I sighed.
'I love his wolf,' she said.
'And i love Jay,' i said
"Hey."
I blinked and focused on Jay as he waved his hand in front of me.
"Sorry i was talking to Elisa," i said.
"Your wolf?" Jayden asked.
"Yes," i said.
"Thats a pretty name," he said making me smile.
After the ceremony i walked outside with Jay. The night's cool air blew my hair around.
"Reanne we have been so worried for you!"mom exclaimed as she and dad came towards me.
"Its ok mom. I am fine," i smiled.
"Beta Jayden," dad said bowing in respect.
"Did you find your mate?"mom asked.
I looked at Jay and smiled. Looked back at my parents i said, "yes i did."
"Thats wonderful sweety!!! Where is he?"mom exclaimed like an excited child.
"He's standing right here," i smiled wanting to give them a hint.
"Where?"dad asked as he looked around.
Jayden cleared his throat and mom and dad looked at him.
"Reanne is the beta female of our pack," he said with such a proud look that my heart melted.
I heard mom and dad gasp but i could only stare at Jayden. My beautiful mate. His black hair waved lightly in the air. His gorgeous grey eyes looked at my parents.
"R-reanne is the beta female?"dad asked still staring at Jayden.
"Yes," Jayden said before adding, "and she will drive with me to the pack house."
"Of course beta," dad said in understanding.
Mom smiled hugely at me and i smiled back.
'He is a good fellow Reanme. Look after him well,' mom said.
'Of course mom,' i said back.
"Well ready to go? My car is this way," Jayden said.
"Yeah," i smiled at him.
We walked to Jayden's car in peaceful silence. I gasped when i saw his car. It was beautiful! It was a black audi of the latest model.
"I believe you like it?" Jayden chuckled.
"I love it Jayden!" I exclaimed putting my arms around his waist.
"Call me Jay," he said.
"Huh?" I asked looking at his beautiful grey eyes.
"Thats my short/nickname. Jay," he said.
"Jay," i repeated my jeart fluttering in my chest.
"I like it more," he grinned at me.
We got into his awesome car with Jay being the perfect gentleman. On the way Jay put his hand on mine and held it tightly. Sparks flew throughout my entire arm and i sighed blissfully.
This was what i was  missing before i found Jay. And to think that Jay had waited two years for me. That was more than any other mate would have done.
"What are you thinking little wolf?" Jay asked after a while.
"You are wonderful Jay," i said as my heart fluttered.
"I love you little wolf," Jay smiled and squeezed my hand.
I scootted over in my seat and leaned my head on his shoulder. I felt him kiss my hair and smiled. This was what it felt to have a mate. This was what i had been missing all my life until i met Jay.
