A TV show I've recently been obsessed with is an American musical rom-com called Crazy Ex-girlfriend. It has four seasons and at least two songs in every episode, and they're all so hilarious I thought I'd take a crack at imagining which songs were about our beloved gang.

Robbie: I Go To The Zoo. When life gets tough and nothing else distracts him, not even chatting to Rex, he goes to the zoo and wanders around, talking to his bestie the nightguard and admiring the kangaroos for their nocturnal abilities. Favourite lyric: I look at the monkeys/Their eyes look like my eyes/It's so relaxing at the zoo.

Beck: Fit Hot Guys Have Problems Too. Yes, Beck Oliver is a fit hot straight white guy, but that's not all he is. When he goes to the youth club with his mates after that breakup with Jade in season 3 he plans to dance away his worries without girls hitting on him and assuming he has no troubles. Favourite lyric: Our pecs are perfect, but we have bad days/So don't objectify us/With your male and female gaze.

Jade: Women Gotta Stick Together. Jade decides when to join women at their side to disrupt the patriarchy - and when to tear them down, either passive aggressively or aggressive aggressively. Favourite lyric: Some girls are born tall and thin/And some are short and fat/This girl smells like sausages/But there's nothing wrong with that!

Tori: I Want To Be A Child Star. Self-explanatory - what other character in this show would be more suited to lead a life of early stardom leading into considerably less of a quality of life than her respective peers? Favourite lyric: I want to have a teenage Hollywood meltdown/Be a pop culture casualty/I want a bunch of addictions/To illegal prescriptions/And completely lose touch with reality!

André: Friendtopia. The only thing more important to André than his music is his many close and true friendships. They're so strong that if he wanted, he could take over the world with the power of friendship and combined strength - but he won't, because he's a good person. Favourite lyric: We're going to braid each other's hair/Then cut each other's braids/Connect the braids to build a rope/To hang all of Congress!

Cat: We'll Never Have Problems Again. For the most part, Cat lives in a fantasy world where all of her problems disappear and whatever issues she has in reality she ignores. Favourite lyric: Do you remember back when we had problems?/Oh man, that was annoying/But now our love has magically solved them.
