Marcello pulled away and carefully began to examine Emilia.
He was scared.
Scared like never before.
Scared she would reject him.
Scared she didn't want him in that way.
And then she smiled, ever so brightly. Making all his doubts and Insecurities all go away.
Emilia placed her hand on his cheek when she realized he was slightly tense."What's wrong? Do you regret the kiss?"She asked the spark in her eye instantly becoming dim at the thought.
Marcello turned his head slightly and placed a kiss on her hand."No, not now not never. I don't regret anything when it comes to you." She pulled her hand away gently and wrapped it around his torso and then lay her head on his shoulder.
Marcello's figure tensed as he spoke, "You shouldn't leave."
Emilia looked up into his eyes and asked, "What do you mean?"
He placed his hand on her bump and without any hesitation stated, "You can act like you boarded the plane but in reality stay here in New York in my condo and I will take care of you guys."
Emilia smiled." Okay, I will stay here but I mean isn't it too much on you to spend on the three of us. It would be better if I get a job and then I will go back to school after-"
"Emilia I own a multi-billion dollar tech company, I can take care of you guys." He placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Marcello your gonna need to buy cribs, diapers, clothes, toys, bottles, bibs, blankets, pacifiers, car seats, that's a lot at least let me help you with there expenses? I feel bad."Marcello couldn't help but smile.
"Emilia there is no need for you to do that."He spoke ever so softly.
Emilia modded."Okay, I will just get a job for my expenses-"
Marcello couldn't help but laugh at how stubborn she was."No, Emilia no. You are the mother of my children therefore you get a right to my money just like they do." He grabbed his wallet off of the nightstand and pulled out his black card."This is yours to spend with as you please, no limits. I will get a maid to cook and clean for you and a chauffeur to drive you where you need to go. I will also get you registered into NYU online and buy you a laptop so you can finish school. Did I miss anything?"
Emilia's eyes widened in shock.
He didn't miss one thing but it was way too much on him. He was spending a lot on twins and her.
Emilia sighed."Marcello that's a little too much."
Marcello shook his head."Emilia no it isn't. You getting a job is going to cause you stress and stress isn't good for you because you are pregnant not to mention with twins. The risk of premature birth is higher than average for twins."
Emilia smiled while biting her lip slightly.
He actually read the book.
He took time out of his day to read about pregnancies.
She placed her hand on his cheek."You are going to be an amazing father."
Marcello scrunched his eyebrows in confusion." Why do you say that?"
Emilia chuckled."Marcello, you took time out of your day to read about pregnancies not to mention you are providing the twins with everything they could possibly need and you know that if I am comfortable the twins are comfortable. You know how hard it is for some people to realize that the mother needs to be taken care of too."
"Really?"
"Really, "Emilia laughed while hugging him.
Marcello glanced at the time.
1:25 PM
He ran his hands through her brown hair as he told her ever so gently."You know your Mom is going to kill you for being late?"
She simply nodded.
"You don't care?"
She shook her head."She's always mad at me no matter what I do. The one time she was happy with me was not when I graduated top of my class or when I landed an internship at Oxford but was when I was dating Jude Wyatt the son of the richest businessman in the U.K."
At the mention of another man, Marcello's grip on her tightened as if Emilia would slip away from him at any moment.
Emilia noticed how tense he got at the mention of Jude and without any hesitation climbed onto his lap and hugged him ever so tightly.
"Marcello he doesn't mean anything to me, I promise. My only regret is the two years I spent with him. I thought I loved him but it was nothing but infatuation."She placed a kiss on his cheek.
He ran his hand on her back slowly."What happened?"
Emilia sighed."He cheated on me with my best friend and just like any low life he blamed me because I refused to do anything sexual with him. And because I knew his reputation I would even refuse him a kiss in fear of it going any further and, to be honest with you, it wasn't hard to stay away from him because I never felt those intense feelings toward him. "
He smiled wider than a chasire cat."So I was your first in everything?"
He was more than pleased with this information.
She chuckled." You are unbeliveable," She told him while nodding.
"So what made you lose it to me?"He asked out of curiosty.
She smiled at him."In a way I felt like it was always a burden on my chest because people always treated me different after knowing especially guys and then Natalia accidenlty got pregnant a couple years back so automatically my Mom became more strict on me and always urged me to keep it until marriage. I did as she said until Jude cheated on me after that I no longer wanted to keep it but I knew I didn't want to give it to just anyone and then you showed up and unlike pervious men in my life I was actually attracted to you and you were actually very caring." Marcello simply nodded.
She paused for a minute and then asked him a question that had been running through her mind for a while,"Why were you the bar tender that night?"
He laughed."My friend he owns that bar that I met you at and that night his bar tender called in sick so my friend stepped up in his place. I was there that night and stepped in when he had some business to attend to." Marcello grabbed his phone and wallet off the night stand and then lightly tapped her."Now come on we have a lot to do today we need to get you a dress and me a suit and then I need to take you to a salon to get your hair and makeup done."
Emilia groaned."But I don't want to go. Can't we just stay here?"
