I spent the drive to the Dalton Academy singing along to the songs on the radio, to distract myself from the fact that I will  face the principal and also my classmates.

What about Jeff and Nick? Or Sebastian?

I shouldn't care about all three of them.

Nick and Jeff ignored me and Sebastian’s an asshole.

Hesitantly I opened the big front door of the private school and wandered through the big hallways.

Nasty memories of being pushed against the lockers crossed my mind.

God, even though I hate this school, the atmosphere is lovely.

It's always a little bit cold because of the old masonry and the classrooms are always decorated nicely.

Especially the choir room. Many pictures of the old Warblers are hanging between a few old lamps and on one desk the huge cage of our mascot Pavarotti  is standing in front of a window.

It was so common to hang out in this room, that I'd rather be scared of Sebastian's appearance than not appreciate the magic of our music, which I've missed so much in the last weeks.

Because of all the thinking I had already passed the principal’s office without even realizing it.

I turned around and approached the big wooden door, which the assistant sat behind of.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

“Come in!”, a lovely voice said loudly and I opened it.

“Hello, I'm Blaine Anderson. I’d like to talk to the principal, please”, I replied confidently.

“I'm sorry, he just answered an important call. It might take a while", the lady behind the counter answered.

“No problem, I can wait", I suggested and took a seat on one of the uncomfortable chairs standing next to the door.

The lady, which name I didn't even know, nodded and turned her attention back to the computer.

For the next hour I just sat there watching the clock moving every minute.

Although I didn't want to overthink the whole situation, I had no chance fighting against my brain and, therefore, I was scared, as the door to the principal's office opened and Mr Martens greeted me.

I walked through the door, sat down on one of the chairs in front of his desk and rubbed the sweat of my hands on my thighs.

“I wanted to talk about my graduation", I began the conversation.

“Well, you missed out on a lot. Also your disappearance was unexcused, which will cause a few detentions”, he said without even caring why I was absent.

What a caring principal he is!

“What do I have to do to graduate?”, I asked.

“You have to write all the exams you missed plus the final exams in five weeks. Maybe a few teachers will be pleased with a presentation, but you should talk to all of them. It's easy, if you pass, you graduate”, he said emotionless.

“Thank you, sir", I replied and stood up to leave.

As I twisted the door knob, he quickly stood up, as well.

“Good luck, Blaine. I'm sure you can make it" he said as a goodbye and I thought I could see a sparkle of caring in his eyes, but I doubt that was real.

I left the office, as the school bell rang for the next period.

Luckily the conversation didn't last as long as I expected, so I tried to make my way through the crowd to head out of this hell as quickly as possible.

“Blaine?”, a familiar voice of one of the people I've pushed out of my way said confused.

I looked up and looked into Nick's face.

“Uh...hi", I said in shock. I did expect to see him, but it still was weird, as we didn't speak for weeks, even before my disappearance.

“Wow, that's awkward. Wanna talk outside? I could skip chemistry”, he suggested pointing to the door after a minute of being confused.

"Alright", I agreed and followed him through the crowd.

“Where the hell have you been? Nick and I were worried to death!”, he exclaimed, as we sat down on a park bench in front of the huge building.

“I bet you were worried", I said snappy, “You've ignored me before I was gone and you didn't even try to contact me”.

“Yes, we ignored you and we're sorry. You know, it was scary being bullied, and we thought it would have to do with being your friend. You were the one, who was bullied the most and it just made sense", he began.

“Screw you", I interrupted him and wanted to walk away.

This is useless. I don't want to be blamed for being bullied. What the hell did they think? It's not like I enjoy it.

“Wait!”, he yelled and ran after me, “When we noticed, it was because we're an openly gay couple and wanted to apologize, you were gone. We called and messaged you so many times, that I stopped counting, but you never answered. So please don't say we don't care about you. We fucking do", he finished.

That's when I realized, I probably lost my phone without even noticing.

“Sorry for not answering your calls, though. I was out of town", I replied. “

What happened?”, he asked worriedly.

The rest of his free period we spent talking about Kurt.

Well, I told him everything about our relationship and he listened to it.

He tried to help me with the whole situation and gave me some relationship advice, but we both agreed, that it would be the best to give Kurt time to think and to focus on the exams.

“If you need any help, just tell me", he said, as the bell rang and we headed to the front door, “And by the way, I like your new attitude and style".

I smiled and waved goodbye, when Nick disappeared behind the big door and headed to the parking lot.

Actually it was nice talking to him and also, he was the first one commenting my change and it felt awesome.

Suddenly someone grabbed me by the shoulder and turned me around, as I wanted to open the door of Kurt's car.

“You back, Anderson", Sebastian commented still holding my shoulder with a firm grip.

“Well seen, Sherlock", I answered pulling away his hand, “what do you want?”.

“I missed you", he replied, “Beating up the other two gays is boring. Their daddies are always calling the principal”.

I rolled my eyes.

“I am very sorry about your concern”, I said with a fake smile.

“But I'm sure you can make up for it. My offer's still up", he suggested stepping towards me.

Confidently I took a step forward, as well, so that our lips were just a few inches away.

I leaned forward , until my mouth was directly next to his ear.

“I'm not going to fucking screw you, Smythe”, I said in a loud voice.

He jumped away holding his ear in shock.

“You're an asshole", he exclaimed, but I just pointed my middle finger at him and sat down in the driver's seat to drive of the parking lot without looking back once.

And it felt damn amazing.
