Narrator's POV
"Ready to go home, Tae?"
The latter nodded excitedly and beamed, "Mhmm!"
Jungkook chuckled at the excited behaviour of the younger to go back home, and carried him to the wheelchair which had been provided by a nurse. He sat Taehyung down on it, and pushed the chair out the room.
They were now out of the hospital room, heading towards the exit, walking past busy nurses, doctors and worried people –who were waiting for some sort of good news about their loved ones– with the grandmother who was holding the medications needed for Taehyung. Jungkook had called an uber earlier, which was now outside the building waiting for them.
Once they safely stepped out of the hospital, they moved towards the uber which was right infront of their view, making it easier for them to find it.
Jungkook opened the car door of the backseat, and carefully carried Taehyung and placed him in the car. And before he could move away to close the door and sit on the passenger seat, the old woman had already made herself comfortable there, talking with the younger driver about tangent topics, leaving him no choice but to sit with Taehyung in the back.
Not that he complained though.
"When are the guys coming, Kook?"
"Uhm.. they said they'll be there at your place after..uh, 10 O'clock, which is... " He tilted his head down at his wristwatch, and looked back up at Taehyung after checking the time, "which is about an hour and a half away from now."
"Oh okay." Taehyung replied solemnly and looked out of the window.
He was lost in his own thoughts, a slight frown and a worried expression visibly washed over his face.Jungkook noticed the uneasy fidgeting and the tense expression on the latter's face; and Taehyung felt a warm hand crawling upto his own and felt it intertwine their fingers together in a tight hold.
Their eyes met, and Taehyung offered a tight lipped smile while Jungkook gave a worried glance.
"What's wrong?"
"I-It's nothing.. Just.. Thinking about stuff.." He mumbled out.
"May I know what you're thinking about then?"
Taehyung sighed. He tightened his grip on Jungkook's hand and rested his head on the older's shoulder.
"Just.. Thinking about how I'd have to explain everything to all of you.. Especially Halmoni.." Taehyung muttered under his breath, his heart heavy because he'd finally have to reveal everything to his grandmother.
This was something he couldn't lie about anymore. She deserved to know, and he knew that. But he was not ready to face her reaction. He was afraid to see the sadness and disappointment in her otherwise warm and welcoming eyes, once he would reveal everything to her. He knew for sure that she was going to be very disappointed in him as he had hid all this from her instead of telling her. But it was inevitable at this point. He would have to face it. And he frowned more at the thought.
Jungkook's lips curved upward into a small smile. He closed his eyes and rested his head on top of Taehyung's, and started to trace random lines and patterns on the back of the younger's hand with his thumb, as an attempt to comfort him.
"Yeah... You would have to explain some things, but remember that I'm right here for you, Tae. You're not alone, you have us by your side. And it's about time all of the shit that you're going through came to an end, and for that, she has to know.."
"Yeah.. I guess you're right.. " He breathed out, closing his eyes.
"We'll all be there when you're gonna explain, don't worry. And I promise you, it won't end badly. You have nothing to worry about, Taehyungie. For now, let's just focus on recovering, yeah?"
