Lesson 23: Being Derek's Girlfriend Could Cause Drama
The babysitting was over, and I was in my room, eating cookie dough, texting Derek and wondering about what Joe said. Was Derek bad news? Was he going to break my heart?
Why did he react like that when I said Derek was my boyfriend?
I was about to text Derek about everything that had happened, but then I decided against it. After all, he kinda hated Joe, so his reply could be a bit . . . Biased. So I decided to do the next best option.
I texted Selena.
Me: CODE BP URGENT
I sent the message and waited patiently for her reply. You see, Selena, Alice and I had codes. 'Code BP URGENT' stood for, 'Really Big Boy Problems'. In this case, they were really big.
Selena: What?
Selena? Whaaaaaaattt?!
Selena: WHAT?! DONT LEAVE ME HANGING!
I giggled a bit, realizing I hadn't replied and she'd been sending me messages.
Me: SOZ! its bout Joe...... i think he likes me.......
Selena? Ur kidding me y the heck do u think that??
Me: well, i went to his house today.......
Selena: WHAT?!
Me: NOOO! Nt like that ewwww
Selena: Then like wat??
Me: I had to babysit Chloe and John with him
Selena: whos John?
Me: A boy Joe's mum babysits

Selena: Oooooh
Me: and then he looked me up and down and said 'u sure look fine'
Selena: wat were u wearing??!!!

Selena: haha carry on
Me: so then......
I texted Selena everything that happened, the argument, Joe punching a wall, the hurt look on his face when I said Derek was my boyfriend, everything.
