chapter 33

Pha's pov:

I was pacing around in dad's office.

All the worst case scenarios were playing in head.

It's been six hours since he left and i couldn't reach him.

Again, it wasn't him blocking the link. It was something else.

"Pha calm down. Panicking is not going to do anything." Dad spoke up.

Dad, mom, Ming, Kit, Beam and Yo were sitting on the couch looking equally worried.

"I know but...." I slumped onto the couch and pulled at my hair.

Dad opened his mouth to say something but he shut his mouth when we noticed something about the shield.

"W-why is it wavering like that?" Yo asked.

We all stood up and quickly walked out onto the balcony.

The shield was shaking and weakening.

Pha i have a really bad feeling about this. Kai mumbled. I could feel he was getting scared.

Then i felt it.

It was like a thread had snapped.

My eyes widened and my hand instantly went to my neck where his mark was.

The link! It disappeared! Zen yelled.

The mark on my neck had also disappeared.

"No no no no! You said you would be back!" I yelled with tears streaming down my face.

I could hear gasps from the others.

Just then Kai appeared in the backyard. He fell to the ground on his back. He was in his human form and was covered in wounds.

I immediately jumped from the balcony and landed on the ground.

"What happened?!" I took him into my arms.

"Fuck.... That idiot..." He grunted.

He looked exhausted. He was trying to heal his wounds but it wasn't working.

"Pha let's get him to Suthee first!" Dad came out of the backdoor.

The others were also standing near him looking increasingly worried.

I immediately stood up with him in my arms and rushed inside.

When we got to the infirmary, Dr. Suthee was already waiting near one of the beds with nurses.

I put him down on the bed.

"Wait outside." Dr. Suthee turned to me.

We went outside.

I sat down on one of the chairs and pulled at my hair.

I can't feel him.... Why can't i feel him?.... Even when he went to hell i could still feel his presence in the link but now i can't.... I can feel Kai but not him... Zen cried.

Tears streamed down my face.

I clenched my eyes shut tightly.

I put my hand where his mark used to be. Now nothing was there.

I could feel arms wrap around me.

I opened my eyes and looked to my side.

It was mom.

She also had tears running down her face.

"He promised he would come back..." I said softly.

Her arms tightened around me.
