Overall, Professor Wang's visit was a success. In the lecture hall, people said happy goodbyes and gathered their bags to leave. Department Chair Cao called a taxi for the day's distinguished female guest. He spoke into the phone, nodding:

"To the train station. Yes--"

As he hung up the phone, Xiao Nai approached, offering a suggestion:

"Perhaps several students could accompany Professor Wang all the way to the train station. We ought to walk her to the right platform. If she misses the train, one of us could wait with her bags while another changes her ticket to the next train."

Weiwei stood next to them. Hearing Xiao Nai's words, she blushed. She had a vague guess that her "husband" was laying out a long-term plan.

He really was always ten steps ahead!

"Good idea!" said Department Chair Cao.

So Department Chair Cao turned to Weiwei. "Would you please bring Professor Wang all the way to the train station, and wait with her?"

"Of course I can," Weiwei said.

"And I can help as well," Xiao Nai said in his cool voice.

"Wonderful," said Department Chair Cao, who thought to himself:

Our department's top student is not just a genius. He's also considerate!

On his wife's face, Xiao Nai sees a little smile. She tries to hide it, but fails. Her face is bright pink.

Good.

After delivering Weiwei's "idol" to the train station and waving goodbye as the train departs, Weiwei and Xiao Nai catch a taxi headed back to campus. In the station, strangers turn to look at them. With their extraordinary looks together, people can't help but stare. Weiwei glances at Xiao Nai, uncertain about the attention.

Saying nothing, he just opens the door of the taxi for her.

Which is how they end up side by side in the backseat.

The two of them.

Just as Xiao Nai had hoped.

(Of course, there's also the taxi driver up front. But that's OK. With Weiwei's modesty, it'll keep her at ease to know there's a third person around.)

On a typical day in Capital City, any normal person in a car hopes that traffic won't be bad.

But for the first time in his life, Nai hopes the traffic is absolutely awful. If all the cars in Capital City break down with engine trouble, that'd be his greatest dream come true.

Meanwhile, Weiwei is gripping her backpack with white knuckles and a wide-eyed stare.

"Weiwei—"

"Senior—"

They speak at the same time.

"Senior—" Weiwei presses on, "We were going to discuss the Feng Teng video rights."
