Friends Like These: Fivesome

Jin's Story.

In a karaoke bar, in their own room, All five seated with different glass of beers in their hands.

Bright: (after they finished greeting and settling ) "So why are we gathered here?"

Gulf: "Let's start with Jin."

Jin: (getting a bottle of beer from the table) "So Katy wants a baby."

Bright: (unfazed) "So what?"

Jin: (caught off guard by the indifferent response) "You don't find that weird?"

Mild: (scratching his head confused) "Isn't that what comes after marriage?"

Tan: (drinking his beer unbothered) "You should've seen it coming."

Jin: (complaining) "I'm not ready."

Bright: "Then why did you marry her?"

Jin: "Don't ask me questions like that. Why did you marry Win?"

Bright: "Win is adorable my guy. I can't imagine what I would be like without Win."

Everyone rolls their eyes.

Mild: "Whipped."

Gulf: (to Bright) "If he wants a baby will you give it to him?"

Bright: "Am I crazy?"

Jin: (in agreement) "Right! Exactly!"

Bright: "I mean I told him I'm not having a baby anytime soon. I cringe every time I think of babies."

Jin: (gets up to fist bump Bright) "you're my role model."

Mild: (thinking out loud) "I would want a baby though."

Tan: (scoffs) "They don't fall from the sky Mild. Your single ass should just get someone and settle."

Mild: (firm) "I will do no such thing."

Gulf: (rolls his eye) "yet he wants a baby."

Mild: (sassy) "uuuh ever heard of adoption?"

Bright: (in a rebuking tone) "Gentlemen let's not encourage that."

Gulf: (nodding) "Right. We would all take turns in raising that kid."

Mild: "there's no harm in making a human feel loved."

Jin: "that human needs a sense of belonging."

Tan: "Mild, what's your status?"

Mild: (with a serious face) "I'm a bourgeoisie."

Tan: "Not what I'm asking dummy,"

Mild: (tilts his head) "HIV negative."

Tan: (rolls his eyes) "I meant-

Mild: (interrupting Tan) -Offline."

Tan: "Sexual orientation!"

Mild: "Oh when you ask me about my status you have to be specific. The question was too vague for my liking."

Tan: "Sometimes I wonder if you're silly or just straight out dumb."

Mild: (with a proud smile) "Sadly, you'll never find out."
