The Black Bride

I sat on my horse riding back from the river after doing all my laundry, it was starting to get dark as I rode back towards labelled a strange chill in the air as it whistled through the trees without a single leaf anywhere, I saw someone on the horizon on a horse it was a black horse and I could see a dress hanging down the horse it was a black dress too, I called out to the rider but there was no answer so I rode a little closer but they still seemed the same distance from me. So I moved closer and faster chasing after this woman "Hey miss?" I called out "Excuse me Miss? are ya lost?" I yelled out to her but there was no answer she didn't even turn to me "Hello? Miss? Miss wait!" I yelled as I noticed her close to the edge of the hill "Wait miss Be careful!" I yelled but next, I looked she had disappeared I rushed over to the edge but there was nothing either side of the hill, maybe I just imagined her...

I was heading out to the forest, I had a day off and I honestly just fancied a ride out of labelled that place can feel overwhelming sometimes I slowly rode my horse through the thick dark woods, I looked around through the tree's seeing animals and birds. But as I looked an I saw something another horse through the trees and I recognised it, it was that black horse, I could see the woman sat there with long hair and a huge black dress "Hey? Uhh, I've seen ya before haven't I?" I asked her but she didn't answer she didn't even turn to see me "Hello? Miss?" I asked her but nothing so I carefully went over to her but anytime I did she seemed further away "Miss?" I asked her "Hello?" I asked again "Excuse me, Miss?" I asked her but still nothing and after a while, I lost her again.

I sat at my table having the last of the stew that maggie left for me every so often looking out to the la belle streets keeping an eye on everything going on out there, I had some more strew before I glanced up again and I saw a black horse stood in the middle of the road, with a rider in a black dress, I instantly got up and headed out my house "Miss? Miss? Excuse me miss?" I called heading out to the road "Miss?" I called out to her heading closer to her horse but every time I got closer she rode further away "Miss please wait!" I called out running after her horse but as I reached the edge of town... she was gone.

"I think I'm being haunted," I said as I sat in the office with maggie

"By what? Ghost of your dirty clothes?" she laughs

"No, I keep seeing this woman... On a black horse In what looks like a black ballgown... but she never answers me, she never turns to see me, but I keep seeing her" I explained

"Maybe you're being haunted by the Black bride" she smirked

"what?" I asked her

"The Black bride, people used to say about her all the time, said her husband to be, ran off with her sister on the way of there wedding so she cursed them both turning her wedding gown black and now wanders the desert looking for lonely men to drag them down to hell" she explained

"That's.... uhh that's just a myth, a children's ghost story," I said back

"fine, but don't come crying to me you start seeing pretty girls trying to drag you to hell" she laughed

I sat on my horse as I rode out towards the river until I saw the black horse again with that black dressed rider "Hello? Miss?" I asked but she didn't move she didn't even turn she just sat on her horse by the river her black dress flickering in the wind her long dark hair flickering in the wind too "I'm not afraid of you... You'll never drag me to hell without a fight" I said grabbing my gun but as I did the horse shifted and moved to turn to face me... she was beautiful sat on her horse in her beautiful black dress she saw me and smiled to me waving nicely to me "Uhh Hello miss?" I asked her she started moving her hands around and I noticed she was speaking in sign language "Ohhh... you're deaf? that's why you didn't respond to me when I was calling you? that makes sense, Plus you are in all black on a black horse honestly I'm surprised I saw you at all" I laughed

I smiled as I got back from the office heading into the house seeing y/n stood in her little black dress carrying our sweet little daughter on her hip I went over to her and gave them both a little kiss.
