"im not seeing beth anymore"

"im sorry what" you ask removing your hand from his grip

"im not seeing beth anymore"

"the why did rossi tell me that beth was helping me plan the party" you ask

"that was before she left me alone in my bed with a note" he pulls a piece of paper out of his pocket and hands it to you

dear aaron,
i saw the messages between you and y/n, i also heard the call last night. she seems like a lovely woman and i sincerely hope she makes you happy. i have no hard feels towards either of you. there's chemistry there and you can't deny it even though you want to, i saw the ah the two of you looked at each other at the dinner. i wish the both of you luck.

when you finished reading the note you felt a bad for the way you felt about beth. you looked back up at hotch handing him the note. you don't say anything you just look at him.

"so-" aaron starts but you cut him off

"can we not do this here" you ask looking up at him

"sure y/n, do you want to come over to my place later or" he says trailing off

"i'll come over after the party" you say giving him a smile before walking off

you walk back into the house and go to the kitchen to talk to rossi. when you walk in you see him making the alfredo sauce. after he tastes it he looks at you.

"bella" he says as you sit at his island

"how are you" he asks smiling at you

"i'm alright" you say giving him a tight smile

"what's wrong" he asks

"nothing" you say

"y/n i have been working with you for the last 6 years somethings wrong, tell me" he says pouring you a glass of rosé

"while hotch and i were undercover something happened that shouldn't have happened and when we came back he was giving me the cold shoulder and the yesterday out of the blue he brought beth to dinner and well you all saw my reaction, but to find out that he was seeing her when it happened really really made me feel guilty and come this morning she broke up with him because of me i- i just feel awful and now he wants to talk after the party and i don't even know what he wants to talk about" you finish taking a sip of your rosé trying to get wasted again

"y/n i have seen the way hotch looks at you everyone has, i haven't seen him look at anyone like that since hayley. he's being this way because he doesn't want to loose you, trust me there's something there that he's waiting to show you, it may not be today or tomorrow but he'll show it soon" he says giving you a small smile

damn he was good, rossi always has the best advice in any situation. rossi became your father figure after your dad passed away from cancer. he came over every twice a week for two months to make sure you were eating and also just to be someone to talk to, you were very grateful for him.

you get up from you seat and give him a hug

"i love you kiddo" he says hugging you back

"i love you too"

"now go have fun, unless you want to help me cook" he says

when rossi cooked he took it very seriously, he never made a mistake with his dishes. you tried to make one of his dishes once and you almost burned your apartment down.
