"Now we're up against a wall
and she's calling me baby"

Chapter Eleven

Marco Pollo

Elvira
↽———⋆♥︎⋆———⇁

My apartment in DC had Blackout curtains for every window in my room. One thing that always seemed to ruin my morning was when the light was what woke me up on my days off. The darkness helped me stay asleep, which I needed considering my job.

The sunlight had been a huge problem for me in this room. The bright blue walls only reflected the light more. So when my sleep was ruined by the blinds being pulled up it was no secret I was a bit pissed.

"Are you Elvira?" At the window stood a blonde woman. She was wearing some sort of dress with her blonde hair loose at her shoulders. Her posture didn't seem welcoming.

"Yes, who are you?" The blonde approached my bed while slapping her hands together to get rid of the invisible dust.

"You aren't even pretty." To say I was confused was beyond an understatement. I had never seen this woman before. The only people I had come in contact with was Aurora and Cuore Mio. "You're fat too, I mean look at you."

"Honey I don't know who you are but if your insecurities are really that bad perhaps you should think about getting a life coach." My tone stayed calm. I had dealt with bitchy blondes plenty of times before.

The blonde moved closer to my bed. Her hips swayed in an odd way. Like they were both breaking with each step. "You think you're better than me?" Being better than someone is hard to judge just from a five second encounter..

"I suggested a life coach. I do not see how that suggests I'm better than you."

"I could end you. All I have to do is say that you hit me and he'll toss you into the river like a penny. You are nothing to him." I should have assumed she would be the type to cry Wolf.

"Firstly people throw pennies into wells not rivers. Secondly, I don't want to be anything to anyone here." Past the blonde stood Aurora with a rolling tray at her hip. I couldn't make out the details of her face so I wasn't entirely sure how she felt about the conversation. Much less how long she had been there.

"Get out,Vanessa. You know he gave strict orders for no one but me and himself to enter. You are not above exceptions." Aurora walked further into the room and stopped the rolling cart in front of my bed.

"You might want to lay off of the food, fattie." Another insult I didn't take to heart. My weight was perfectly fine. Shortly after the insult she turned on her heel and left once again with her hip breaking walk.

"Pancakes, sausage, fruit bowl, eggs and orange juice. It's been requested that you try and eat as much as you can. We want you to stay healthy." I hated sausages.

"We?" With much pain I moved myself into a sitting position in front of the cart and popped a grape into my mouth. I didn't even really think to ask Aurora to eat first in case the food was poisoned. I was so starved I didn't exactly care.
