I love how the first thing I saw was her face after I woke up. Her soft shiny lashes, the soft pout on her lips, the messy pillow hair falling on the side of her face...
I brushed the strands of her hair and fondness engulfed me as I saw her lean in my touch unconsciously.
"Are you awake?" I whispered. She didn't respond. Instead, she moved closer and buried her face into my chest. Her hand slid around me.
"How are you feeling?" I asked planting a kiss on her head. She groaned. I pulled her closer. She mumbled something inaudible. Even the littlest thing she did, entertained me. Even the trivial things she did put a smile on my face.
"What time is it?" she asked now, looking up at me. Her eyelids drooping. I kissed her forehead.
"I don't know. It doesn't matter as long as I'm with you," I said.
"Cheesy," she said turning around in my arms to reach for the tiny clock on the table by bed.
"I'm hungry let's eat?"
I nodded. "But first let me kiss you," I pulled her closer again. She giggled as I did. It was like music to my ears. After all the years I've been away from her, I couldn't explain the emptiness I felt all along.
Now that she was in my arms, I felt like I didn't need anything else. I pressed a gentle kiss on her lips. My hand moved around her waist and pulled her closer till I could feel her against my skin.
"You have no idea how much I love you," I said. Her hands cupped my face. Oh the warmth of her touch...
"And you have no idea how much I love you, will love you and will keep loving you," she pressed her lips onto my forehead.
I often wondered why did destiny have to keep us apart? Why did it have to built a wall between us?
