From mother Hera took the child
To hide from forces dark and vile.
To Chiron the only centaur couth
Whose words were wise and full of truth.

To Chronos son she shows the babe
And goddess ask "what plans be made
To shelter child from ancient foe
Whose name and state remain unknown?"

And Chiron ponders question deep
And thinks for long before he speaks.
"The child will live inside my cave
Away from world but also grave.

My home in ancient forest stands
A realm that's claim by satyr pan.
The god of all that's green and wild
His jealous ways will guard the child.

For rarely grants he foreign might
To tread his kingdom day or night.
And watches woods with prying eyes
By using birds and trees as spies.

To keep incursions held at bay
That secret foes not stow away.
And enter realm unknown to god
Who lives in wilds where men don't trod."

To centaur Hera leaves the babe
That son of Chronos, welp might raise.
To hero great that wins her fame
By bearing forth the goddess name.

There Heras Wrath does grow yet tall
And roams the woods from spring to fall.
As wild as any beast in lands
Where nymphs do haunt the fauns do stand.

There Chiron teaches child to war
And learns him ways of ancient lore.
But boy has strength of many men
And all his arms have early ends.

No sword or spear can bear his might
That strength that levels hills in fights.
And rips a tree from rooted stance
To use as mighty wooden lance.

So son of Zeus does bear no arms
To help him bring his foes to harm.
