"The new TWIB CEO, Dato' Bahadin first day reporting to work this morning. You should check out his Special Officer (SO). He's to die for!" Sarra, my gossip buddy from Corporate Comms squeals in delight.

"OMG! CEO's S.O. is my kind of man," Fareed, another Corporate Comms associate chimes in. "I bumped into him inside the elevator this morning and I can tell you one thing; he's a perfect, ethereal specimen I've ever met. And he smells delicious too. I can tell it is Dior Sauvage."

Sarra coos in agreement to his description. Although Fareed tends to go hyperbolic with things he fancies, I got to give credit for his exaggeration. He is more feminine than any of us combined.

"But I heard he's a demanding type," Melinda, another gossip mate from Strategy points out. "Like he's temperamental and difficult to please. People at TWB International couldn't stand his grumpy attitude."

"Well, I can imagine," I concur. "Being the CEO's sidekick, you need to filter many assholes to safeguard him."

"He's not local, isn't he?" Sarra asks us. "He looks like Ezra Miller or some sort."

"Yep, he's a permanent resident. He reminds me of Captain Yoo Shi Jin from Descendants of the Sun," Fareed opines.

"No! Nobody compares my Song Joong-ki to anyone!" Melinda retorts in annoyance. "I think he's a spitting image of that kid from Dunkirk who accidentally got killed in the private boat."

The rest of us gawk at Melinda's odd comparison, trying to figure out which kid in the movie Dunkirk she was referring to when Abang (Older Brother) Kamal, the senior officer in Finance interrupts our stimulating discussion with news on CEO's first visit to every department today.

"Where is he now?" I query him.

"Word on the street is that he's done with level 14 and finishing level 12 as we speak," Abang Kamal gauges. "He'll be coming over to level 6 in no time. I better tidy up my desk before he comes. You should do the same."

I assume Dato' Bahadin's a hasty guy who's not into small talk. Level 14 is the second biggest chunk of the organisation consists of four departments i.e. Sharia Compliance Review, Administration & IT and Human Resource. Level 12 houses Product Teams, Risk and Legal. When I first came in, I spent a couple of hours being ushered by Human Resource (HR) introducing me to every department and floors. And Dato' Bahadin has covered ¾ of TWIB in less than an hour.

When Dato' Bahadin and his entourage walk into level 6, some bootlickers flock around them like a mob of fans while others like me wait by their respective workstations.

First, they parade to the other wing to meet teams from Strategy and Investment, then proceed with our wing which comprises CoSec, Corporate Comms and Finance. I'm unable to recognise Dato' Bahadin among the crowds but I spy a tall figure of a promised handsome beefcake towering the horde.

'That must be the S.O. Fareed's been talking about,' I thought.

As the crowd draws near, I finally spot Dato' Bahadin who's a thin man of an average height. The visible lines on his tanned face, thinning grey hair with patches of whites on each side hinting that he could be in his 50s. While the HR introduces him to Finance and Corporate Comms, my eyes remain locked at his model looking S.O., who's too conspicuous to ignore but too familiar to forget.

He looks nothing like Ezra Miller, nor that Descendant of the Sun guy. But he reminds me of someone I knew vividly from my youth, but I couldn't recall which one. Within the spur of the moment, I forcefully reap images of all the boys and men that ever walk into my life from my memory.

When I study his handsome face, pieces of recollection gradually fill in. His cupid's bow lips pursing, his prominent cheekbones and defined jawline clenches while his snub-nose flares. It's obvious he's not comfortable with the staff thronging his boss. But as I stare at his dark grey monolid eyes, it just gives away the answer to my painstaking remembrance. My mind freezes when I suddenly remember who he is.

Saint.
