Reader's POV

I woke up to the feeling of the sun's light brushing against my skin. I looked around the Hospital Wing as I tried to recall what happened last night.

A few moments later, I heard the sound of the curtain being drawn halfway around my bed and there was a cart was idling by. I gazed upon my arm skeptically, not really desiring to see what I would find.

The bandages on my arm were bulky, moreover I could still see some shade of red transuding through. Sighing heavily, I immediately sat up once Madam Pomfrey was at my side just a few seconds later drawing back the curtain back around after her.

"Good morning Ms. Bell," she said. "How are you feeling?" She handed me a cup that I hastily took and downed without any objections, making a face at the surprisingly bitterly sour taste that filled my tastebuds.

I groaned a bit shortly after swallowing.

"I changed the bandage and put some ointment on your wounds last night. They're already starting to close over." Madam Pomfrey informed me, she sounded more cheery than yesterday.

"Wait, where's Ron? Is he okay? Where —" I asked frantically.

"Calm down Ms. Bell. Mr. Weasley is alright. He's back up at his dormitory in the Gryffindor Common Room with Mr. Potter and Ms. Granger." says Madam Pomfrey, reaching over to fluff my pillow as I looked around amok.

I looked at the window, the sun was now fully visible.

"Ah Poppy, how wonderful our patient has awakened. May I have a word in private with Ms. Bell?" Professor Dumbledore had appeared out of thin air, as he stood at the end of my bed with his signature calm and twinkling blue eyes and a gentle smile focused on Madam Pomfrey, who nodded and staggered away giving me a brief warning to not touch my bandage.

"P-professor, what happened? Last night, where's Sirius? Is he alright?" I asked, my voice was quiet but frantic.

The worry that twisted my stomach had returned but stopped once Professor Dumbledore had rose his hand up to silence me softly, as he approached to stand beside me as I sat up in bed to a more comfortable position.

"Sirius Black is safe, Ms. Bell; and far from here but his name is not cleared as Peter Pettigrew had managed to escape the grounds." Professor Dumbledore explained quietly.
"You mean he's —" I whimpered, but was interrupted by the elderly headmaster's reply.

"He is, in the public's eye, still a criminal." Professor Dumbledore replied sadly.

My heart ached at those words.

Still a criminal.

Why? He had been so close to freedom. How would he, live when the world still believes that he was murderous, raving lunatic? His name deserves to be cleared. He has a godson to raise and care for, but they never bonded for 12 years until last night.

Sirius was the only family Harry's ever got left.

"Mr. Weasley has made a full recovery, along with Professor Snape." Professor Dumbledore added, I groaned a bit. I didn't even care if that slimy git was woken from his beauty sleep.

(A/n: ok I'm sorry again to Snape lovers)

"All is well Ms. Bell. There is no need to panic." he said calmly. I exhaled in relief. But my mind still had one more question.

"Sir, will I become—"
"No, you won't become a werewolf, child. Although you may display some wolfish characteristics, like a tendency for craving raw meat. Those scars can never heal, I'm afraid. But don't worry, you will be alright." he assured me.

I sighed once more. I couldn't bear the possibility of my family and friends neglecting me if ever I become a werewolf.

"I'll leave you now with my parting words," he said, rising from the corner of my bed and stroking the quilt. "It seems, Ms. Bell, that someone has let slip Professor Lupin's condition. The whole school now knows, and he has taken it upon himself to resign. I believe you will find him in his office." he noted.

"Thank you sir." I muttered sincerely. Professor Dumbledore smiled gently at me before bidding me goodbye and departed the Hospital Wing.

Madam Pomfrey cleared me to go, giving me a potion for energy and a tight smile before she went over to the last bed on the corner, a first year who had fallen ill as I presumed.

I exited the Hospital Wing as I was greeted by 'hellos' and 'how are yous' which I replied by nodding curtly at them.

"(y/n)!"

I heard two familiar voices. Before I knew it, Padma and Lisa sprung towards me giving me a tight hug.

"Guys, I can't breath!" I said in a muffled voice, patting their backs, signalling them to back off politely.

"Oh we were so worried about you." Lisa sobbed, tears spilling from her eyes as Padma patted her back.

"We heard about the incident last night. Are you sure you're okay?" Padma asked me.

"Yeah. I'm totally fine," I replied bluntly. "But don't worry, I'm not gonna be a werewolf."

Padma and Lisa exhanged worried looks. "The whole school now knows. Professor Lupin's a werewolf." Padma said sadly.

"Yeah, Snape said it to the Slytherins and of course, the news spreads like wildfire here in Hogwarts." Lisa added.

Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, Blaise, Pansy and several others then came howling at me.

"Looks like your favorite Professor turns out to be a werewolf." Malfoy taunted.

"Told you, Lupin is a mutt, Bell. And now, he's leaving." Pansy laughed.

"Shut up Parkinson!" I barked at her as they all left.
I suddenly remembered that I needed to see Professor Moony, at least one last goodbye. This would probably be the last time we'd see each other.

Time skip...

I knocked on the familiar door, gazing at the lines in the wood, I pushed it open when I heard the quiet voice imploring me to come in.
