Chapter 8 - Preperations

The dinner drew closer as Hayley was keeping us updated from Oliver, who followed Hayley and the promise I wouldn't go near him again. Fair price.

"Marcel's witch is being held captive in the quarter." She informed us.

"Oh perfect. Mother's one step ahead, as usual." Klaus sighed and I scoffed

"I take that as an insult, why didn't you come to me with this?" I question "I'm part witch, I could figure it out. I've already come up with a plan." i turn my back to him making him sigh.

"Oliver's with her. I'll get her to do the spell, but I need the necklace." Nik looked at me and I nodded, the I held a hand up to my husband

"Keep your judgement to yourself." Nik handed the necklace over.

"Thank you." Hayley took the necklace "Are you coming with?" she asked me

"I can't Esther knows that I would never leave their side and they wouldn't leave mine, me not attending would raise her suspicions like a sky rocket." she nodded

"Another of Marcel's disciples was asked to fetch another ingredient. Ask for Gia." Elijah stopped her

"Who's Gia?" I wonder, he didn't answer "Elijah." I warn.

"Some newly turned vampire he wishes for me to tutor." I look at Nik who is amused then back at Elijah

"Fine. I'm going to get dressed" I walk off

-3rd Person-

Gia was back at the apartment complaining about what had happened and how instead of compelling to get a pythons she just stole it.

"Why Elijah?" Gia questioned "I'm not stupid. You want something from him. I just can't guess the reason you think I'm the way to get it."

"Actually I want something for him and it's the same thing I want for you." Marcel answered

"Which is that?"

"This, us. Our new community. I learned the lesson the hard way. You can't make your way in this town unless you have an Original looking out for you. Klaus is so fixated on those wolves. Bethany is a complicated wreck underneath that strutting almost put together look. And Elijah is so wrapped up in his family's centuries old crap he can't see it. We need him. We need him to see us as family too." Marcel went onto explain to his new friend

"I couldn't even get my own family to care about me. How am I supposed to win him over?" Gia wondered

"I've known that man over 200 years. He's cranky, he's fussy. And he can ride your last nerve. but has an achelliez heel. Okay? He can't help trying to fix what's broken. All you need to be is yourself, someone who needs his help. Besides, I hear he and Bethany are at an impasse."

"What do you mean."

"She is all over the place, one minute she's fine the next's she's enjoying a slaughter, she's lost her anchor and he see's it. He's trying to help but he's not so he will look to channel that helplessness into something or someone he can help...you."

"I doubt her guard her intentions will drop because I'm dressed like a bloody lawyer." I heard Nik as i walked into the dining room. i chuckled

"Aww but being mortal looking is such a good look." I pout

"We need every advantage we can get." Elijah lit more candles as I took Nik's side

"You always did excel at diplomacy. Just know if she tries anything, I will tear her new body to pieces." Nik replied there was another chuckle and i looked to then entrance, a man walked in

"You two haven't changed a bit." he commented "Linens and silk can't disguise your pathetic self loathing. And you..." he looked towards Nik "Despite your arrogant facade you're still the same paranoid, little boy." I caught sight of the cufflinks i spelled, Esther's right hand man.

"Full of hate and fear."  Elijah shared a look with Nik and I then walked forward

"Forgive me. I don't believe I've had the pleasure." i took Nik's hand and tapped it

"You mean you don't recognise me?" he asked "So much for the unbreakable bonds of family, huh?" I stood straighter

"Finn." I breath and he smiles then points  at me

"Now, she is the smart one. I can tell."

"Now that the introductions are out of the way. Let's eat." he held out his arms
