Chapter Forty Nine - Kol's Goodbye

-Beth-

We were now back home. I pulled Elijah out onto the dance floor and we started swaying to the music. I began to feel a heavy weight on my chest.

"Bethany you're shaking." Elijah puled away and looked down at me "What is the matter."

"Nothing, nothing" I rubbed my eyes "I'm fine. Just tired. I'm fine."

"Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention please." I heard Nik and saw that he had the children with him. I stormed over

"Nik what the hell." I scowled taking Daniel off of him. Then holding my hand for Sophia who took it.

"Just go with it." he whispered "Hayley if you would join me I would like to propose a toast." Hayley gave an awkward look to Jackson but joined us.

"I want to welcome you all. As you know last spring two children were born into our family. Hayley and I had a daughter. My brother Elijah and darling Bethany had a son. Due to tragic circumstances they were lost. Now they have returned home. This is Hope and Daniel. And they will live here among you. Their pack, their family. We implore you protect the children. Teach them, love them as one of your own." he looked over at Jackson who nodded then took a glass of champagne

"Jackson. I invite you and your bride to live here uniting proud and noble people in peace. Welcome to the family mate. To Jackson and Hayley." he raised his glass and I looked apprehensively  over at Elijah.

I lifted over the cover to tuck in Sophia as she slept soundly after a busy day. Kissing her head I left closing the door behind me and muttering a protection spell. Elijah came out from settling Daniel down.

"I didn't know what he was planning, I swear." I held my hands up

"I believe you. I know that having Jacksons blood oath to you and the children has reassured you." he came over and took my hands "I do however think it is becoming a little crowded, though."

"Yeah kind of. But at least we'll all be in one place right? So...." I laugh nervously "You know what I will talk to Nik and talk him down...eventually and surely."

"Actually I was thinking of something else." he was about to continue when someone interrupted us.

"Beth, Elijah. It's Kol. He's dying." She tells us and I cover my mouth.

"Let us retrieve Niklaus." Elijah guided me to Hope's nursery where Nik was with Hope.

"Must you intrude on every moment?" he question noticing our presence

"Nik." my voice broke making him turn around

"It's Kol. I couldn't help him. He's not going to last the night." The three of us grabbed our jacket and went to leave walking past the remaining guests. Bekah to us to the cemetery.

"I think I want to be alone for this bit." I heard him as we entered we saw him walk just in front of us.

"I'm afraid that's not an option." Elijah spoke as I walked past them and took his side

"Always and forever is not just something you weasel out of, brother." Nik added

I cradled Kol in my arms trying my best not to break down. He was surrounded by his family and Davina who was chanting something. Kol was groaning in pain.

"It's going to be okay, you're gonna be okay." i whispered holding his tightly. Kol looked over to Nik.

"All my life all i ever wanted was you lot to care about me" I started coughing again  "B-Beth." he wheezed

"I'm here, I'm right here." I kissed his head  "It will be okay, it will because you're dying as a witch. And witches can be concercrated so you will join the ancestors. And you know more than anyone those crazy sons of bitchs never die for long." he let out a strangled laugh

"I will make you the same promise I  gave you the first time. I will bring you back. I will never stop until you come home. I mean who else is gonna help me fuck around with Nik eh?" I chuckle as I cry. "I will bring you back." I kiss his head. Davina crawled over

"I...I tried a different spell." She told him

"It's okay." he wheezed clotting onto her hand "I'm not scared." he tells her then  laughs slightly as he goes still. I start sobbing even harder and I pulled him closer. I screamed in pain.

-3rd Person-

Freya was explain the danger of Dahlia to her brother Finn who she had resurrected when the felt the ripple of power hit them.

"Whoa." he breathed "That was some powerful magic. That...that was Bethany." he mumbled

"Elijah's wife? The tribrid?" he nodded

"I have felt her magic before, she is a controled source of power, nothing like I have ever seen. It had brought me to my knees. Something must have happened." he mumbled
