I returned home and pulled out a couple of dresses to assess them I chose a modest yet beautiful green dress and some nude heels. I stick with simple and minimal jewellery. Once done I stepped out and held up my hands

"Am I smart enough for this meeting, or what?" I smile softly as Elijah turned to face me. He returned my expression.

"You look simply exquisite my love." he lifted up my coat for me to slip into, which I did and Gia met us outside. Elijah drove us to Ms LaRue's home and we were allowed inside. The Butler showed us to the awaiting Ms LaRue who sat with three awaiting chairs. Even I had to say she had the air of a formidable woman. We exchanged pleasantries as our coats were take and I was invited to sit on the chair closest to the older woman. Gia played her piece well she seemed to entrance Ms LaRue.

"You are as calculating as I've heard, Mr. Mikaelson. Having your companion play the very piece I once performed to great acclaim." I forced myself to hide a smile in amusement

"is it not a piece that you also enjoy?"  Elijah wondered

"It's best not to insult those more powerful than you which is the only reason I allowed you into my home." her eyes drifted towards me "Now, if you will excuse me, I have many things to do."

"How amusing." i comment with a small smile

"what is?" she wondered

"My goodness, i had expected a more cordial welcome here." Elijah replied turning in his seat slightly.

"And why would i be cordial to you?" she retorted making me raise an eyebrow "Since your family has returned to this city, our elders have been murdered promising young witches have been inhabited against their will." She continued. i didn't say anything, apparently what was needed was a scalpel, not a sledgehammer which I had now known to become.

"And I can put an end to all of it." Elijah rebuffed

"With all due respect, I can believe that. As much as I believe I will play my violin again someday." she looked down at her fragile hands "Because Mr Mikaelson beneath your formal attire, the silence of subdues of your wife and behind the lovely Beethoven you're all the same. Liars. Masters wearing the skins of human. Good day." she was keen to dismiss us. Elijah stood but I remain seated

"Bethany." he held out his hand but I just stared at the woman and tilted my head

"I must admit I find it remarkably amusing that you call us monsters. Witches who have the favourite saying of keeping the palace of nature. Tell me where was that balance when Esther sought to protect her children and it backfiring? Where was it when a coven of witches, dead witches I might add declared that my child and my niece were a threat when they hadn't been born. Witches fear the new and unknown you fear it so much you wish to snuff it out before anything can happen before you are proved wrong or right.

We as vampires, hybrids, tribrid's even are not afraid of the unknown. We deal with the present threat. Witches were the threat, despite warnings from much more powerful witches than yourself, you still came after us you sided with Esther and Finn. You came after us. Ms LaRue, I am respectful for the position you hold in your community but I will not sit here across from you while you have the audacity to call us the monsters when it was the witches who started it first. You fired the first shot and we returned in kind. if you wish to blame someone for the bloodshed, look more closer to home." I stood on my own.

"My love would you..." i sigh

"I'm not going to do anything Elijah. I'm not dumb. Besides, it wouldn't serve me at all to do anything other than stand up for you." i folded my arms

"I admire your candor, Mrs Mikaelson. I often fine at times vampires to be more calculating. No offence." If I wasn't promised to be on decent behaviour my jaw would have dropped

"I also admire her candor." Elijah smiled. I snorted in amusement and shook my head

"Well he has good taste." I spoke "Ms LaRue, I do not say this lightly. He is a man you can trust, in fact out of the all the Mikalesons myself included he is probably the only one that will be polite and straight with you. It just comes of as calculating. I say that as someone with more trust issues that you could possibly imagine." there was a moment of silence

"I suppose I should just hear you out, Mr. Mikaelson." I look at Gia who seemed impressed. I swear it's pure luck half the time. Elijah wrapped his arm around my waist.

"One of the witches who escaped  the Pauline Cottage is of particular   importance to my family. My request to you. Tell your people to leave her to me." he comments removing his hand and flicking through some reports of witches who has gone missing as well as some other papers

"You have no idea how dangerous these witches can be." Ms LaRue replied

"She will cause you no further trouble I can assure you that. In return, Bethany here will find the remaining witches and deliver them  back to you. Consider this the first step in a new and mutually beneficial alliance." He handed something over.

"Eva Sinclair. Powerful and sadistic. If I am to relinquish someone like her into your custody I will require someone equally powerful in return. The Treme Coven wants Vincent Griffith returned. How you expel your brother Finn from his body is your concern." she bargained

"With absolute pleasure." I smirk and i leave. Elijah calls Nik but doesn't pick up. "He's probably still having a pout. Let me try." i take out my phone but it goes to voicemail. I look at him furrowed eyebrows

"He's up to no good. Like bad bad no good. And i'm not involved. How rude." I lift my sleeve up and trace my finger of Niklaus' name and humm. I have visions of where he is.

"Lafayette Cemetery." I say and we leave Gia speeding off.
