Nik, Elijah and I all sat back down at the table and continued to converse till Finn woke up groaning and holding his head

"What Happened?" he grumbled

"I did, turns out. Elijah maybe a pain in the arse, but he's my pain in the arse and i don't like you yelling at him." I looked at my husband "Only I can do that...maybe Nik." I made a kiss face at him and he gave me a soft smile

"But do feel free to rejoin, Nik and Elijah helped pass the time by telling me some boyhood stories. You were saying Elijah?" i say

"Yes, Finn. You might reside, somewhat parasitically, I might add, in another body. But let me assure you, in 900 years your tedious sentiments remain quite the same. You see, Finn like father you've always despised our supernatural existence. Father of course, slaughtered and consumed his own. Where as you, you became pretentious and dull, much like this meal was before Bethany almost brought the house down. now I won't ask you again, where is mother?" Elijah continued

"Oh, my darling son. I've missed you too." Finn stood upon her entering, every the son with his head so far up his mothers arse.

A new glass and set was brought our for Esther and Finn pulled out her chair and sat down. Finn then retook his seat.

"Why don't you say what you have to say so this wretched night can end?" Nik huffed, clearly being done with this evening.

"It pains me that you and Elijah look at me with such disdain. I wish you could see that my every action has been to protect you." Esther replied

"You actually believe that, don't you?" Nik wondered " I knew you were a liar but now I see you're utterly delusional."

"If you can, forget the hatred that you cling to and remember all the times I've mended and healed you." Nik chuckles and I raised an eyebrow amused "Elijah, do you recall the day Niklaus challenged your father to a duel? Did I leave your brother to die alone?" I turned my attention to Nik

"What did I say when you came to me and asked me to help him?" Esther questioned my husband

"That you would rather die than watch any of your children suffer." Elijah answered solemnly and Nik had a far away look in his eyes for a moment.

"The necklace... It wasn't spelled to protect me. It made me weak." Nik stated

"I sought to protect you from yourself. If you would've killed your father in that duel or anyone else over the course of your life you would have activated your curse." she reasoned making Nik slam his fist on the table.

"You ruined me. You left me to suffer at the hands of a father who valued only strength." Nik retorted

"I kept you from becoming a beast for as long as I possibly could." she rebuffed

"Oh, you lied to me to hide your own transgressions because of your own fear." he blamed his hands down again and stood up "My whole life, I sought the approval I was denied by the man I thought was my father." I stood and took his side holding his arm as he held onto one of my hands

"You turned me into the weakling he hated. Look at me! You rant and you rage about the monster I've become but you mother you're the author of everything I am." Nik vented and I looked to her, something was happening, she fell forward and Elijah who had left the table caught her. He looked at us.

"She's gone." He turned to Finn who held his hand up to attack him but the spell worked and rebounded he dropped to the ground.

"What the...." I raced in front of him and hummed he cried out in pain as he went unconscious once more.
