The one with the Bribe

FOURTH YEAR

The weasleys, Harry, Hermione and I all spend every holiday together. It was decided that I was to continue my time at Hogwarts until Voldemort wanted me dead. I Never got to know what the plan was for when that time came but I honestly didn't know if I was ready to know. I wanted to spend as much time with my friends as possible.

As we all walked into the Great Hall for dinner and the sorting ceremony I noticed two empty tables off to the far left of the hall. Everyone cheered when Slytherin got new kids but I was so focused on the tables that I didn't see Malfoy trying to get my attention. Pansy slaps my arm and I look at her frustrated, she points to malfoy. I look at him and he smiles.

"Are you alright?" He whispers

"I'm fine. You?" I say

He smiles and goes back to listening to dumbledore. He says something about a tournament and brings out a cup before introducing another wizarding school for girls. I look at Malfoy and get nervous when the girls and their headmistress get to the front I stand up and walk out of the Hall towards the Slytherin Common room. I hear footsteps behind me and walk a little faster until They grab my hand to stop me.

"Where are you going?" the person asks, turning me around

I turn to see Malfoy standing there staring at me

"I am going back to the common room" I say pulling my arm away

"What about dinner?" Malfoy asks

"I don't feel very hungry, besides I know whats going to happen" I say shifting my bag on my shoulders and playing with my bracelet.

"Thats what this is about?" he asks

I nod slightly embarrassed.

"Look, lets just go back to dinner and we can worry about it when its time" Malfoy says

I nod and let him bring me back to the great hall for dinner. The boys all stuff their faces while Pansy and I laugh. I started to feel like maybe things could be different and that I could stop everything.

"So do you think you'll enter?" Pansy asks me

"Maybe. I don't think so though. What about you guys" I say taking a sip of water

"I think we get enough danger at home" Pansy says making me laugh loudly

Everyone looks at me curiously before smiling. I keep laughing, trying to catch my breath.

"Im sorry its just that I never expected you guys to be afraid of your familys. I get Draco's struggle but you three I never thought you didn't like being home" I say

"I'm scared of my dad, I like my mom" Crabbe says

"Same" Goyle says

I look at Pansy who doesn't say anything, I feel a little bad for her. I know that she doesn't see her parents a lot and I know exactly how that feels. I smile at her and she smiles a little.

"Hello, I am Viktor" Someone says from next to us

"I know who you are, Krum" I say looking past him at the Gryffindor table, to look for the twins

"Sit down Krum, eat" Pansy says pushing a plate towards him.

We get to know him a little better, and he truly is interesting. He played in the quidditch world cup this year and he is top of his class at Durmstrang. He is very friendly and I see him looking Hermione every now and then.

"I see you have noticed my friend Hermione. Would you like me to introduce you?" I ask

"Would you" Viktor says

I stand up and lead him over to the Gryffindor table. Hermione and the boys are talking to Ginny and the Twins.

"Hermione, I would like to introduce you to Viktor Krum. Viktor this is Hermione Granger, one of hogwarts finest students"

They look at each other and smile.

"I will leave you to it then" I say before walking back to the slytherin table with Draco

Dumbledore gives us all a reminder about the tournament before dismissing us. I see him look at me as if asking to speak so I get up and walk to the table with the Teachers.

"Miss Potter, What can we help you with?" Barty Crouch asks

"The tournament. He will return during the last task during the tournament" I say

Dumbledore looks at me and nods. I turn and walk away to join the others waiting by the door. We all walk back to the common room.

"So I was thinking about the tournament and how we all said we didn't want to enter, what if one of us did just for fun?" Draco says looking at me

"I'll do it" I say smiling

"Really? Isn't it dangerous?" Pansy asks

"Yeah but I have nothing to loose, So why not right" I say grabbing a piece of parchment and writing mine and Harry's names.

"Are you giving it to snape?" Crabbe asks

"No, I have someone else in mind" I answer walking to the door.

I walk out and see Moody, who is actually Barty Crouch jr, Snape and Igor karkaroff standing in the hall outside the Great Hall.

"Miss Potter, A bit late isn't it?" Moody ask

"I decided to enter the tournament" I say

"Your underage" Igor Karkaroff tells me

"That I am, but being that I know who Moody really is, He is going to put my name along with Harry's into the goblet" I say holding up the paper

"And why would I do that for you?" Moody asks

"Well because I can go to Dumbledore, right now and tell him who you are" I answer seriously

The three of them look at each other confused. Moody signs and takes the parchment from my hand

"Why are they on the same piece of parchment?" He asks

"So that I can go into the tasks with him" I answer.

I follow the three of them into the room with the goblet and watch as moody throws it in, waiting for it fly back out but it doesn't. I turn on my heel and walk for the door

"It was a pleasure doing business with you" I say before walking out and crashing into someone.

"Issy, what are you doing here?" Fred asks

"Nothing I just wanted to see if the barrier was still there" I lie

"Alright well see you at breakfast then, and um talk to Harry" George says

"I will G'night" I say before walking towards the staircase and running down to the Slytherin Common room

I burst through the door and sit down next to Pansy and Draco on the couch.

"So what happened?" Pansy asks

"I may have bribed Professor Moody into putting my name in the goblet" I say smiling.
