The next few days flew by. We spent most of it in our room eating room service and making love. We made a few trips to the beach and even got to see the older couple we saw that first day a few more times. It was absolutely heavenly, but all good things must come to an end.

“Have you got everything packed?” I asked Luke as we prepared to leave for the airport.

“Yes, dear,” Luke said with a smartass tone.

“Don’t get all smartassy with me!” I exclaimed.

“What are you going to do about it if I do?” Luke asked me.

“You’ll find out if you keep doing it. You just wait and see,” I told him before kissing him passionately.

“If you don’t stop that we’ll miss our flight,” Luke said as he pulled away.

“I don’t see our private jet leaving without us!” I smirked.

“Now, who’s being smartassy?” Luke asked me.

“I can be a smartass if I want! I’m me!” I laughed as we exited our suite for the last time.

We loaded into the car that was waiting for us at the front of the building and gazed at the beautiful sunset as we rode to the airport. It was a short ride. Before we knew it we were loaded up and flying towards Florida. LeClaire was going to make sure we got picked up at the airport in Panama City and we were going to spend a few days with her and the kids before we head back to Tennessee.

“Did you really know you were in love with me before you ever married Caroline?” I asked Luke.

“How many more times are you going to ask me that?” Luke asked me.

“I just am having a hard time with it,” I told him, “I’m sorry.”

“Baby, don’t apologize,” Luke said as he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close.

“Luke, when did you realize it?” I asked, “That you were in love with me?”

“The night at Spinnaker’s. The night that Gavin disappeared for hours,” Luke told me.

“You know that week is when I got pregnant with Kenzie?” I asked Luke.

“I know. Please don’t remind me,” Luke said.

“What?” I asked.

“Kenzie should have been mine,” Luke stated.

“You were dating my best friend,” I told him.

“That night, the night at Spinnaker’s, I would have left Caroline for you in a heartbeat. We got into a huge fight over you that night,” Luke explained to me.

“What do you mean over me?” I questioned.

“I started to kiss you when I got you out of there. I guess you were so pissed you didn’t even notice it, but Caroline sure did,” Luke confessed.

“What?” I asked in shock, “You almost kissed me?”

“I wished I did so many times since then,” Luke admitted.

“Really?” I blushed.

“Bridge, you’re blushing,” Luke said to me.

“It’s your fault. I know it sounds bad, but I kind of wish you did,” I informed him.

“Sometimes I do too,” Luke said.

“I regret not kissing you until I see Bo and Tate. Then I’m thankful that I didn’t. You probably would have still had Kenzie, but I would have never had the boys,” Luke said.
