I got the kids to the Galt House last night and then came back to sit with Bridget for a while. Evidently I fell asleep because the sun is just starting to show its face and I am just waking up laying in the itty bitty hospital bed next to Bridget. I want to get up so bad, but I really don’t know if I can without waking her up. My right arm is under her head. I gently start pulling it out and she starts to move. I stopped, but she continued to move. I saw the opportunity to move when she rolled and jerked my arm out swiftly.

“Ahhh!” I screamed as I fell off the side of the bed, “Well, that didn’t go over well.

“What are you doing?” Bridget asked as she peaked over the side of the bed.

“Just thought I would lay on the floor for a while,” I smirked.

“Luke, just get up,” Bridget laughed as she offered her hand to help me up.

“You’re in an awful good mood this morning. What’s up with that?” I asked my wife.

“I just realized that it don’t matter if your momma comes to stay with us. I don’t know why I was so mad about it yesterday. I guess it was the thought of bringing someone new in. I don’t want that, but that’s not what was even being said. I guess I wasn’t hearing you out. I just wasn’t listening. Just one of those times I just wanted to be mad, I guess,” Bridget told me after I sat back down on the bed next to her.

“I’m glad you realized that. I really didn’t know what I was going to do if you kept fighting me on that,” I said with relief.

“So,” Bridget began, “Tell me more about this Escalade.”

“Well, it’s black with leather interior. All the options. I really hope you will like it,” I informed her.

“Dammit Luke! You already bought it didn’t you?” Bridget questioned me.

“Well, how else are we going to get home?” I asked her.

“Rent a vehicle. I never dreamed you would make such a big purchase without me,” Bridget said in disbelief.

“That’s not the only big purchase I’ve made in the past few days,” I told her as I opened the drawer of her nightstand pulling out a jewelry box.

“What is that, Luke?” Bridget asked me.

“Just open it,” I told her as I handed the box to her.

“I can’t believe you,” Bridget said, “Oh my! Luke, it’s gorgeous!”

“I heard you and Brit talking several months ago about a getting one. I had everything set up so all I had to do was call when Keegan and Kinley were born,” I told Bridget as she pulled the silver heart-shaped necklace with all of our birthstones on it out of the box.

“It’s beautiful, Luke,” Bridget told me, “Thank you.”

“And more can be added if we have any more kids,” I smiled.

“Thank you,” Bridget repeated as she leaned over and kissed me.

“I love you, Bridget,” I told her.

“I love you too, Luke,” Bridget said as she kissed me again.

There was a knock at the door. As I turned to get up it slowly opened. It was Kerri and she had a bouquet of red roses with two attached balloons. One pink saying ‘It’s a Girl!’ and one blue saying ‘It’s a Boy!”

“How are you doing today?” Kerri asked Bridget as she sat the roses on the table next to the door with all of the other flowers Bridget had received from everyone from my record label to the McGraw’s.
