Kasia hummed as she stepped on a leaf, smiling at the satisfying crunch that it gave under her shoe. She was about twenty minutes into her walk and was starting to feel a bit better. She supposed she had slightly overreacted when Din had told her of his intention to leave the child on Sorgan.

She still firmly believed that he damn well should have consulted her on the matter—or at the very least told her of his decision sooner. But... in retrospect, Kasia had to admit that he was right.

A life on the road, chasing bounties and bad guys, always having to keep an eye out for danger—it was no life for a kid. But a life among other children, farming and living freely amongst the trees... leaving him on Sorgan was the best choice for his future. Even if she hated the idea of leaving him at all.

Still, despite the realization that it was the right choice, Kasia couldn't help but resent the Mandalorian for not even giving her the curtesy of asking for her opinion. After all, she had had just as much a role of saving the child as he had had—perhaps more so in fact seeing as she hadn't been the one to hand him over to the people they saved him from in the first place.

"Kasia," Mando's voice suddenly rang out from behind her, the sudden noise almost causing her to trip over her own feet.

"Le'ple du deb'ae," she muttered as she whirled to face him, her previous anger and annoyance rising in her chest at the sight of him.

At the look on her face, Din seemed to falter for a moment, halting momentarily before continuing to make his way towards her. She crossed her arms as he finally stopped in front of her, his Beskar armor clinking quietly.

"Look," he began cautiously, watching her warily, "I know you're mad."

Kasia gave him a dry smile. "What ever gave you that idea?" she muttered sarcastically, glancing to the side.

Mando waited until she finished speaking, his helmeted gaze boring a hole in the side of Kasia's face. Finally, she turned back to look at him, nodding once for him to go on. "I should have told you about my plans to leave the child," he admitted a moment later, his words carefully neutral as he spoke.

At his admission, Kasia cocked her head. "Why didn't you tell me?" she asked, her voice hard as she spoke.

Din paused for a moment, obviously pondering the question himself. Finally, he confessed softly, "I wasn't sure how to. I can tell how close you've gotten with him—with everyone here in fact. I didn't know how to broach the subject, and I didn't want to h-"

He cut himself off suddenly and glanced away from Kasia. She raised an eyebrow, intrigued by what he had been about to say. Before she could question him on it, however, he shook his head and went on, "It doesn't matter. But anyway, I am sorry that I waited so long to talk to you about it."

For a moment, Kasia stood there, uncertain how to react. She still felt somewhat betrayed, but she knew deep down that if he had asked for her opinion, she would have made the same decision to leave the kid on Sorgan. She could feel the Mandalorian's sorrow and guilt at having kept his decision a secret from her. And... as much as she didn't want to acknowledge it, she knew that in her heart, she truly did want to forgive him.
