I walked home letting the events of tonight replay in my head over and over again. It was nearing midnight and I know if I stayed out much longer my mother would send a search party looking for me but I just couldn't bring my self to go home. To face Betty. I walked by pops, the neon lights reflecting off the cars that sat parked in the lot. I sighed as I walked in making my way over to the counter and sitting down.

"Y/n. What can I get you?" Pop asked as he walked over.

"Just a black coffee. Thanks pop." I said, looking down at my hands that rested on the top of the counter.

"Trouble?" I heard a voice ask from across the room. I turned in the stool to see jughead Jones who sat in a booth, the bright light from his laptop shining on his face.

"Ya. I did something bad. So bad I think Betty hates me." I sighed as I got up from my stool. I walked over to jughead's booth and slowly slid into it. "I can't believe I let it happen jughead. I mean, what I did was so unspeakable."

"I'm sure it's not that bad." He consoled as pop set my cut of coffee on the table. I grabbed it taking a sip. I took a deep breath letting the caffeine sink in.

"Oh, no. It's bad." I cried.

"What happened?" He asked, scrunching his eyebrows together in confusion.

"No, no. I can't tell you. You won't look at me the same."

"Come on."

"No."

"Tell me."

"Nope."

"Please."

"Not happening."

"Y/n please tell m~" he began but was cut off by the door opening and the bell jingling. I turned around to see who it was to be met with the bright haired boy I was in love with. He looked towards, sighing when he saw me. He made his way to the counter towards pop asking him if betty's stopped by at all tonight. When pop answered no Archie looked back towards us making his way slowly towards the booth.

"Uh, can I sit, jughead?" He asked, not making eye contact with me.

"If you want." My beanie wearing friend answered simply, his emotions sinking deep down. He would never admit it but when Archie left it hurt him a lot. A lot. Archie shot me a look before sliding into the booth next to me.

"What are you working on?" He asked jughead, sparking a conversation.

"My novel." Jughead began. "It's about this summer, and Jason blossom."

"Seventeen years old, and how will he be remembered? As captain of the water polo team?" Archie said as more of statement then a question.

"The aquaolics." I joked quietly, earning a laugh from juggy and a side glance from Archie. "Considering how he died, probably not." I continued, more serious this time.

"No, what I mean is....." Archie began. "Was he doing everything he was supposed to do? Everything he wanted. I mean, did he even know what that was?" He continued to ask. Jughead sighed shooting me a look. I just shrugged my shoulders sipping on my coffee.

"Coach Clayton was in here talking to pop tate. Varsity? Does that make you, what, mr. popular-football-god now?" Jughead asked, changing the subject.

"No." Archie sighed looking down at his hands. "In fact, I'm kinda terrified I lost my best friend tonight."

I gulped quickly looking up at jughead who was already looking at me wearing a questioning look. I sent him a pleading look shaking my head asking him not to ask about it. I knew he would ask questions and I knew Archie would answer truthfully, but if jughead found out I know he'll hate me. I can't lose him. He's all I have left right now. He sighed before speaking again.

"If you mean Betty...whatever happened, just talk to her, man. It would go a long way. Would've gone a long way with y/n and I."

Archie sent jughead a guilty look before looking towards me. I looked into his deep brown eyes, unable to read his emotions.

"Go get your girl, superhero." I laughed slightly looking back down again. I felt Archie quickly stand from the booth leaving pops. Once the bell rung symbolizing he left I let out a deep breath I didn't even know I was holding in.

"Y/n?" Jughead asked making me look up.

"Ya?" I asked softly.

"Your in love with him..aren't you?"

"......yeah." I sighed taking another sip of my now cooler coffee.

"And your just going to let Betty have him? That's not the y/n I know. The y/n I know would fight for what she wants." Jughead rambled on.

"What does it matter jug. Huh. He left us. He wouldn't go for me anyways." I sighed. Jughead send me a half-hearted smiled.

"Just....don't let him break you heart." He said before looking back down at his laptop, typing away. I sat there letting jugheads words seep in. Maybe he's right, maybe I should fight for him, but Betty would never forgive me. My happiness matter too though. Right?
