29|Second task

It was February 23, that would mean tomorrow is the second task of the Triwizard tournament.

I felt nervous for Cedric but I knew he would do great. No one had any idea what it was, let's hope it's not as bad as dragons.

Later that day Dumbledore wanted me and a few other students to meet in his office.

As I walked up I saw Hermione and Ron.

"Oh hello Y/n." She said.

"Hey guys." I replied.

Ron seemed a bit confused, so was I.

Ron went in first followed by Hermione, then me.

I was told to wait outside until they were done.

I went in his office and next thing I knew I was passed out.

D͟R͟A͟C͟O͟'S͟ P͟O͟V͟:

I had been in class with Y/n all day but now I can't seem to find her anywhere.

I hope she's okay.

She's probably spending time with Diggory. Helping him prepare for the tournament tomorrow I assume.

I just hope he beats Potter.

C͟E͟D͟R͟I͟C͟'S͟ P͟O͟V͟:

I paced back and fourth in my dorm that night.

Ugh, what if I disappoint everyone. What if I disappoint my father?

The truth is that sometimes I act tough, but really I'm just scared.

I didn't want to let anyone down, especially not my father. Or Y/n...

As I turned my head over to the door I realized there was a letter lying on the ground. I picked it up and slowly read it.

'Dear Cedric,

I know you're nervous about the task tomorrow. You can do this. No matter what happens out there, I'll always be by your side. When you finish I'll be waiting for you outside the Hufflepuff common room.

~Y/n :)'

I sat down at the foot of my bed and looked down at the letter.

Maybe everything would be alright after all.

N͟A͟R͟R͟A͟T͟O͟R͟ P͟O͟V͟:͟

While Cedric sat in his room he wondered where Y/n was after all.

Draco was worried about her. He wasn't sure if she had gone somewhere or if something bad happened.

THE NEXT DAY

Cedric woke up bright and early to start preparing himself for the 2nd task. He was still a bit nervous, he knew he needed to be focused to succeed.

As for Draco, he woke up in a bad mood. He knew Y/n most likely came back last night.

D͟R͟A͟C͟O͟'S͟ P͟O͟V͟:

I woke up, brushed my teeth and put on my best suit.

I rushed out of my dorm and went downstairs. I asked Pansy if Y/n came back last night. Apparently she didn't.

I ran down the hallway in a slight panic pushing everyone out of the way as I tried to find her.

"Draco."

I turned to see Dumbledore with his right hand on my shoulder.

"She's fine, I assure you. Go enjoy the tournament." He said.

This is none of his business, and how would he know?

I fixed my tie and walked away.

I met up with Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle.

"You know where she is?" Blaise asked.

"No, but Dumbledore said she's fine."

"Maybe she has something to do with the tournament." Crabbe said.

"Shut up." I sneered.

Blaise and I laughed. After we found our seats.

N͟A͟R͟R͟A͟T͟O͟R͟S͟ P͟O͟V͟:

Cedric, Harry, Fleur, and Viktor were all standing waiting to go in the lake.

Cedric awkwardly waved to his dad as he chanted his name loudly.

The cannon went off signaling the start of the task.

All four of them jumped in the water.

C͟E͟D͟R͟I͟C͟'S͟ P͟O͟V͟:

As I swam closer and closer I could faintly see the outlines of what looked like people.

I continued to swim faster. Finally I made it.

I saw Y/n, she seemed like she was asleep but under a spell of some sort.

It makes sense now, " retrieve something that was taken from you." Of course.

I quickly did a spell to untie the knot around her ankle.

Harry swam over and untied Ron. I knew he was trying to save Hermione also. He had to make up his mind, and quick.

I grabbed Y/n and looked over at Harry, pointing to my watch.

I swam up to the top holding Y/n tightly.

When we made it to the surface everyone cheered.

I helped her swim back. When we got out I
wrapped her in a towel and gave her a hug. We both laughed in relief for a moment.

We were both shivering.

Y͟/͟N͟ P͟O͟V͟:

I had a fuzzy memory of what happened but all I know is Cedric's happy.

He ended up winning the second task. I was so happy for him. He was a great person who deserved it.

Harry got second because he saved Ron and Fleur's little sister.

While Cedric was getting his picture taken I looked up and smiled at Draco. He gave a faint smile back.

After we all went to our dorms and showered, I rushed to see Cedric.

I turned the corner in the hallway and I ran into his arms. He picked me up and twirled me around.

"Cedric, I knew you could do it. I'm so happy for you."

I gave him a kiss on his cheek.

He blushed a little.

"I couldn't have done it without you Y/n. Thank you for always believing in me."

This was a fun and kinda cute chapter in my opinion.

Sorry for the shorter chapter again. I've been updating more and more because I have free time so expect another one tomorrow.
