A year ago, if you had told Abbey she would be where she was today she would have laughed in your face. She and Jesse were living together at the time and absolutely in love with each other but she had no clue as to what the future had in store for them. Since then, they had a misunderstanding that Abbey took a little too far which resulted in a month long break for the couple, Abbey realizing where she had gone wrong, and Jesse taking her back with not even an explanation needed, he just wanted her home, Jesse being brought into Abbeys Emergency Department via ambulance with a heart valve condition, Jesse proposing to Abbey from his hospital bed, Jesse and Abbey getting married at the courthouse, as he was awaiting surgery, his heart condition worsened and he collapsed in their bedroom suffering a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm that resulted in a fifteen hour surgery that required removal of multiple non-vital organs, Abbey discovering she was pregnant while Jesse was in surgery, and Jesse's recovery from emergency open heart surgery.

They no longer lived in their penthouse apartment in Lincoln Park but had purchased a house in Logan Square located in Chicago's uptown and had since moved in.

She would be 36 weeks on Monday, with just a handful of weeks left in her pregnancy. Everything had gone smoothly for Abbey in her pregnancy. Their baby girl was perfectly healthy, and so was she. And she was ready. They were ready. The nursery was done. Her bag was packed. Jesse had installed the infant seat in both his GMC truck and her SUV. The godparents had been selected, Patrick and Leah, of course. Names were picked out for the most part. They had most certainly settled on the middle name, Grace. They were both very spiritual people and it was by the grace of God that Jesse was still here to witness the birth and life of his baby girl. They had a few names picked out for the first name. It was between Olivia and Ava. They had decided that they would make the final decision once their little girl arrived. But in the back of her mind, Abbey had another name that just wouldn't leave her. And already their little girl was spoiled, she already had everything she could have ever needed or wanted. Abbey stood in the nursery inspecting that everything was perfect.

She sat down in the chair in her baby's nursery looking around, thinking of the past 6 months, and grateful that the worst was finally behind them.

-----------------------------------------------------------

After spending some time alone in the baby's nursery , Abbey went off to find her husband. She found Jesse near the end of a workout in the home gym he had designated when they bought their new house. Abbey agreed that it was easier that way than having to get up and go out to the gym 3 days a week. But if the truth were known, it was a way for Abbey to keep a closer eye on Jesse as he worked out just in the event that he did have a cardiac relapse and something would happen.

Things seemed finally back to normal for Jesse. It had been 6 months since Jesse's surgery, 5 months since he'd come home. He'd had his 6 month follow-up appointment and everything was still going good. He'd gone back to filming this month but was on standby for when Abbey would go into labor which would be anytime in the next couple of weeks.

Abbey stood in the doorway of their home gym watching Jesse balancing himself on his balance ball lifting weights. She was glad he was getting some of himself back. He had been worried about the scar his surgery had left behind and that he would be a turn off for her but she reminded him it was the exact opposite, it reminded her of the fight he put up to come back to her, to their daughter. And he had never turned her on like he was now. He still had a great body and she could stand there watching him all day.

Jesse finished up his workout and hopped off his balance ball, turning to put his weights down when he caught Abbey standing in the doorway looking at him

Jesse finished up his workout and hopped off his balance ball, turning to put his weights down when he caught Abbey standing in the doorway looking at him.

Jesse smiled at her. "Hey" he said.

She smiled back as he put down his weights and turned back to look at her.

"What were you doing?"

"Just watching you"

He smiled brighter, walking up to her.

"And was there a reason for that?"

She laid her hands on his chest

"Because I love you and I love watching you"

"Oh yeah ?"

"Mmmm" she said as he bent down and kissed her neck. She placed her hands on his head.

"I love you" he said wrapping his hands around her waist, moving his head up and kissing her lips.

"I love you too" she whispered against his lips. "But you need a shower and I have a quiche in the oven"

He straightened up smiling at her. "After breakfast then?"

She smirked at him. Believe it or not, their sex life couldn't be better right now. Once he was cleared for that activity, he was still wary not for himself but because he was worried about hurting the baby. She assured him that it was fine and they found positions that worked for them with her growing stomach. And they were very active in their love life lately. And the more her pregnancy progressed, the more she was in the mood.

"We'll see"

He smiled at her again, walking past her to go upstairs.

"I'm going to go take that shower. Meet you in the kitchen?"

She nodded, smiling at him as he headed upstairs.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Fresh from his shower, Jesse walked downstairs into the kitchen where Abbey was standing over the stove. She had one hand on her lower back. He walked up behind her placing his hands on her hips.

"You ok babe?"

"Yeah, just the normal pregnancy pains, I'm good. "

"You sure?"

"Yeah honey I'm fine. Will you get the plates out the cabinet for me?"

"Yeah sure"

Jesse turned to get the plates out of the cabinet while Abbey bent down to grab the quiche from the oven. When he turned back around holding the plates, he turned to see Abbey just standing there, oven mitt on her hand holding the quiche.

"Babe?"

Jesse layed the plates down on the counter. He turned back to her grabbing a towel and grabbing the quiche, placing it on the oven, turning it off.

"Abs?"

He followed her gaze down to the floor where he saw a puddle forming.

"My water broke"

Jesse just nodded.

"Okay"
