Mikki De'lucca

The cowboy follows you as you make your way upstairs, stopping outside your bedroom door he turns to stand guard as you step inside..

You cast a glance over your shoulder at him, "You're just going to stand out here? "

He grins.. "I'll stand wherever you want me to stand, mam.."

You smile, "It's Mikki, not mam'.. Come on, cowboy.."

You waggle a finger at him, inviting him into your bedroom..

He whistles, low and impressed as he steps inside your lavish bedroom suite, complete with sitting area, walk in wardrobe and four-poster bed.. "Aw, hell.. I could fit my entire apartment in here.. Swanky.."

You motion to the lounge for him to sit..

"A gilded cage is still a cage, Cowboy.. But make yourself comfortable.. I'm just going to change.."

You step into the enormous closet, leaving the door slightly ajar, just so you can sneak a glimpse of your new bodyguard as he settles on the sofa..

"Are we going somewhere?.." He asks, leaning back on the sofa, streaching his arms above his head so that those abs peak out..

You scoff, avoiding the question, poking your head out of the closet door, "You do know who you're working for, right?.. I mean you're pretty, so it's possible you could be that dumb.. But I doubt that very much, Mr Knox.."

He corrects you, "Colt.." grinning a dazzling white smile, "And you'd be surprised.. Where are we goin', Mikki?"

You laugh.."To a party.."

You move back into the closet, rifling through hangers untill you find the perfect dress for tonight.. Just sexy enough to keep the bodyguard distracted, but modest enough to maintain the illusion of innocence you have so carefully crafted over the past years..

You shimmy into the tight white bandaged dress, it hugs your full, curvy ffigure, the hemline falling just below the knee, with a thigh high spit up the side..

The deep v-neckline showing off your full curves, while the long delicate lace leaves offer a peek of tempting flesh beneath.. You step into a pair of sky high, nude pumps and out of the closet..

"Zip me up, cowboy?" you ask, turning your back to him..

"Holy hell woman.. If you're fixin to kill a man tonight, that dress'll just about do it.." He chuckles..

You tense as he steps up behind you, his warm breath on your neck..

If only he knew how right he was, killing a man is exactly what you're fixing to do tonight..

The zipper slides up your spine slowly..

He steps back, watching you as you smooth your hands over your voluptuous hips.. "I'll take that as a compliment, Colt.."

......

As you make your way downstairs, Rocco is sucking on his fruit scented vape pen by the front door.. He wolf whistles loudly as you make your way down the stairs..

"Dayyyymnn, Mick.. You're gunna make Dax mad as shit wearing that out of the house.." He snickers..

You grin, not hating the Idea of that at all..

"Fuck Dax." You shrug ad Rocco Chuckles..

"Who is Dax?" Colt asks..

You sigh.. "You're about to find out, cowboy.. Goodnight, Rocky, maybe take it easy on the watermelon mist, you look like a tool, is that why Tracy left?.. Or was it, Trixi? I can't remember.."

Rocco smirks.. "Tanya.. And FYI she fuckin' loves my tool.. Have fun tonight, Mick.. You look beautiful.."

You peck your cousin on the cheek, "Behave yourself tonight, Rocky.."

Colt holds open the front door for you..
"Thanks, cowboy.."

The door is barely cloaed before Dax is marching acorss the driveway towards you, is dark stare on Colt..

"Welp, fuck.. Here we go.." You grumble..

"Mikki? Who's this guy?" Dax wastes no time going after exactly what he wants, no tact..

Colt steps forward, offering his hand, "Colt Knox."

Dax looks down at his hand before turning his scowled on you expectantly..

"Well, papa thinks I need a bodyguard, so Colt is taking me to Mimi's gallery opening.." You watch, insides squirming with glee as he seethe silently.. So much for you coming back to him for seconds..

"Why wasn't I considered for this position?" Dax asks, completely ignoring Colt..

"Maybe because you already have a job.. Or maybe Angelo doesn't trust you.. I don't know, why don't you go ask him?.. Or better yet, why don't you just mind your own business and go get my damn car, Ranger."

His teeth grind, "You're a real bitch sometimes, you know that.."

Colt immediately bristles, stepping out forward, "C'mon now, ya don't talk to a lady like that.."

You are surprised by his quick defence, especially since Dax is right, you are being a total bitch on purpose..

Because this way, he will be too pissed off to speak to you when you get home later.. Which you need him to be..

Still, this works too..

"What the fuck are you going to do about it?" Dax challenges Colt, who simply grins, shrugging a casual shoulder

"Whatever needs to be done, man.. "

The two of them stare at eachother in some kind of weird, macho display of dominance..

Eventually Dax cracks, turning back to you.. "Whatever.." he turns around, striding towards the garage as Colt smriks at you..

"So he seems.. Dedicated.."

You roll your eyes.. "He's a fucking moron.. I don't know.. Maybe that was the point.."

You think back to the night you had let Dax into your room.. It was just after a particularly brutal article about you being responsible for your late husbands death had come out.. Feeling alone and misunderstood, you had wanted something.. Some comfort.. Anything to take away the relentless guilt..

Your family has caused nothing but suffering.. And you've done nothing to stop that.. Sure you tried to run away from it all, you even married a police officer turned FBI agent, the one person who should have been able to protect you..

But in the end, it was you couldn't protect him..

Your own father made you the widow you are today.. And everybody knows it..

Colt cocks his head to one side.. "Wait.. You and that fuckin' guy?.. Really?" He doesn't exactly sound jealous.. More amused..

That pisses you off, you glare at him.. "Don't you fucking judge me asshole.. You don't know anything about me..."

He lifts his hands defensively.. "Whoa, hey.. I wouldn't dare.. The guy just seems like a real jackass.. And you're.. Well..." He grins, waving a hand up and down as if you standing there proves his point.. "C'mon, Sugar, you know you're fine as hell.."

"Yeah yeah, nice save, cowboy.." Dax arrives with your jag, cutting the conversation short as you slide into the passenger seat.. You figure you might as well let the bodyguard drive, since he is practically drooling over your car..
