I sighed as I heard the old and rusty click of the familiar lock, unlike the fast and clean ones I had been living with for the past two months.

"Dad?" I carefully called out as I stepped into the small apartment. One bedroom, a kitchen and living room in one room, and lastly one small bathroom, a bit bigger than the one I had been using for the past two months.

"Pumpkin," the hoarse voice called out in glee from the bedroom as I walked into the living room kitchen. I placed the suitcase by the old couch, before moving towards the bedroom, where dad laid on the bed.

"What did you do for them to escort you out of the hospital?" I sighed and leaned a against the door frame and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Ah... I've bothered them long enough," he let out a small hoarse laugh.

"Dad," I sighed as I closed my eyes at him, "what did you do?"

"Turns out the young ladies didn't appreciate a weak elderly man telling them how beautiful they are," my dad simply shrugged, as if it was no big deal.

"How would you feel if anyone was to give me the comments you've given those poor women?" I questioned him and folded my arms in front of my chest.

"They won't live to see another day," my dad calmly replied.

"Exactly, I believe you get my point," I stated making him let out a small dissatisfied hum at me.

"Did your boss give you time off?" he asked and I nodded at him.

"I got the week," I stated, "I need to be able to pay off the medical bills before I can stop working. Is Jihoon home?"

"Haven't seen him," dad shook his head, "he's a no good, you know that."

"He's still my brother, and he's still your son," I reminded, just earning a grunt of disapproval from him, "did you eat dinner?"

"I don't want food yet," he shook his head.

"Have you taken your medicine?" I questioned him and he shook his head once again, "you have to eat and you have to take your medicine."

"I don't want those pills that's just elongating my pain," my dad complained making me let out a deep sigh.

"They're helping you dad, no one is giving them to annoy or hurt you," I reminded him.

"Sure feels like it Pumpkin," he grunted making me let out a deep sigh.

"I'll still get your medicine for you," I stated making him roll his eyes at me, "can you stop with that attitude?"

"What are you gonna do when you're done working for that horrendous human being?" my dad sneered and I just shrugged at him, "aren't you gonna go to university and finally study architecture?" he questioned making me let out a small laugh at him.

"I think I'll have to work some more for that horrendous human being if I want to go to university," I let out a small laugh at him, "university is too expensive."

"Your mom would've wanted you to go to university," he stated and I just hummed at him.

"Should've thought about that before she wasted all that money," I shrugged and walked back out into the kitchen, "Listen, dad. I'm gonna make some ramen and then I'll go get your medicine."

I didn't get any other reply besides a grunt of dissatisfaction, sounding out from the bedroom.
