A small knock was on the door, making me immediately turn my head to look at Sunoo, who looked awfully careful if you consider it was just me he was talking to.

"Miss Jung-" he started before I abruptly cut him off.

"Sieun," I corrected and he immediately nodded.

"Uhm... the sir said... something with dinner in the dining room," he stated, looking quite unsure and confused himself, "I think he cooked himself, but I'm not quite sure. I don't know if the food is safe."

"No one knows whether or not his food is safe. Not even himself," I remarked making Sunoo quietly snicker, "how about you go home now? I believe you can take the rest of the night off."

"But if there's gonna be-" Sunoo started and I just waved it off immediately.

"I know how to handle it, don't worry," I assured and he just sent me a weird look, "you go home, have a nice evening."

"You too..." he quietly muttered whilst giving me a suspicious look.

I watched in amusement as Sunoo left the room slowly. Once he was gone I tied my hair up in the bun I had been in the midst of making when he first came. Once finished I casually walked down to the ground floor, straight through the kitchen and into the dining room, which by the look on Sunghoon's face must've been the wrong way for me to walk.

"Why in the world are you coming from the kitchen?" he questioned in confusion as I just cocked my head to the side and looked at his clothes. He surely looked a lot more fancy than me now that I stood in my sweats and a loose shirt.

"Was this supposed to be fancy?" I questioned him as he just continued to stare weirdly at me.

"Don't you know any other ways down to the dining room?" he continued his questions and I slowly shook my head a small look of disbelief growing on his face as I replied, "oh uhm..." he quickly fiddled around before walking over and pulling out a chair, looking at me with an expectant look.

"Oooh, what a gentleman," I cooed making Sunghoon immediately look down the moment I noticed his ears turning red.

I let out a small laugh before walking over and sitting down on the chair as he was quick to push it into the table, rushing to sit across from me. He immediately looked over the food he had made before awkwardly scratching the side of his nose.

"Uhm... Bon appetite...?" he moreso questioned than stated. A small laugh escaped my lips before it slowly grew to me having to cover my mouth to not laugh too loudly, "you good?"

"This is so weird," I admitted, "you look all fancy and I'm sitting in nightwear. You even managed to cook food."

"Well... isn't that what couples our age do? Sit in the most bizare circumstances and eat dinner?" he questioned as I let out a small laugh, "secretary Shim said that was how his college life was for him and his girlfriend."

"It's quite nice actually," I nodded as I grabbed some food and put it over on my plate, "now... shall we see... can he cook?"

"I've spent five hours on this. It better be good," he pointed out with a small laugh.

I snickered quietly as I cut up the meat and took a bite, immediately covering my mouth as I began chewing. You know, it's considerably hard to chew your food when Sunghoon is sitting and just staring at you, waiting for your judgement.

"What?" I managed to get out muffled through the food in my mouth.

"Is it good?" he questioned as I just nodded at him, "the truth Sieun..." he sternly spoke.

"It's edible... and I don't think I'll get food poisoning from this," I remarked and a small smirk slowly grew on his face before he dropped his face into his hands, a small whine escaping him.

"Five hours... wasted... just like that," he loudly complained before leaning back in his chair and letting out a laugh of disbelief, "unbelieveable."

"You know... for some people it just doesn't come natural to be good at cooking," I remarked after having swallowed the meat in my mouth.

"Ah, I need some wine to wash down this embarrassment," Sunghoon sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, simultaneously moisturizing his lips as well.

"No," I spoke as I shook my head, making Sunghoon glance towards me with an arched brow, "I want to know the fully sober Sunghoon - and I know if you get one glass of wine then it's gonna turn into a whole bottle within an hour."

Sunghoon quietly nodded at my statement, obviously thinking through the words I had said.

"I think... I need to tell you something," Sunghoon stated as he looked up at me with his usual confidence, yet his eyes seemed more vulnerable than I had ever seen him, "and you need to stop me if I say more than you want to hear."

"It's about when I left, isn't it?" I questioned and he quietly nodded.

My face slowly faltered as I leaned back in my chair and let out a small sigh. Waiting for him to continue.

"I just thought you should know now that you've agreed to the engagement," he excused and gestured to my hand on which I wore the ring, "I don't remember the day you left, I had to have secretary Shim recall everything for me because -- I got out of control that night. I barely even remember the weeks following, but then I got admitted. Jake called the ambulance for me, was there through the whole thing. Hired assistant Kim to look after my alcohol use-"

"Why were you admitted?" I quietly questioned, not even sure if he had heard me. But he must've from the way he pause to look at me, like properly look at me.

"My alcohol intake the weeks following you leaving was worse than it ever had been and my... I guess my liver gave out, I don't really remember," he admitted with a small frown on his face, quickly rubbing his face in his hands to get back on track, "matter of fact is that I'm not supposed to intake any alcohol anymore, but I couldn't stop even if it was a health risk for me, and it pisses me off that I can't pull myself together to just stop. Even though you just came back I thought it was better the earlier you knew."

Sunghoon carefully glanced over at me as I just sat quietly in the chair, looking at him with my head cocked to the side. Landing back in reality I sucked in a small breath through my nose.

"Starting from tomorrow morning there won't be any alcohol in this house. Any crazy fancy events you go to, you bring me. Alright?" I questioned him and he nodded.

I was quite pleased to see him agree with that plan, especially considering how it sort of was my fault that his liver had given out that soon. Had I ne er left it might've never happened, and he could've been just fine.

"I'm so sorry Sieun," Sunghoon almost whispered as he stared at the surface of the table in front of him, "for everything."
