After the event of the last chapter, Gintoki grew closer to (Y/N) the stubborn head, physically tagging her around, to the point of violating personal space.

"You love Gin-san, and you will say it to him when you wake up."

"Gin-san, you read too much of those nonsense in your magazines." (Y/N) pulled up her sleeping mask and glanced tiredly at the man who tried to hypnotize her.

"You love me, don't you?"

"Gin-san, the kids are here."

(Y/N) answered her housemate while brushing Sadaharu's fur. The fallen strands were gathered into a wool ball which was big enough to knit a small hat.

"On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love me?"

"Whatever I answer will be boil down to I love y— Never mind." She placed one hand on her lips, stopping herself just in time and Gintoki's excited face went off like deflated balloon.

"Just say it! Why did you stop?!!!"

"Gin-san. I'm working." She pouted her lips slightly and leaned down, carefully picking wilted leaves from a row of fully bloomed winter peonies. The extravagant beauty of this flower livened up Hedoro's scary shop and for a while, business was actually growing in this place.

"(Y/N)-san! (Y/N)-san! Hello!"

(Y/N) directed her attention to the small boy who run in excitedly and quickly jumped into her arms.

"You are here again. What do you want today, little boy?"

"I misss youuu (Y/N)-sannn..." The boy dragged his words while tugging closer to her.

"Don't bother (Y/N)-san too much." A man walked into the shop and respectfully bowed to the shopkeeper as she did the same "Sorry (Y/N)-san. He kept making a scene until I let him come."

"It's ok, sir. With him here it's much less lonely." (Y/N) patted the kid gently, ignoring the annoyed scoff from the other big kid in her household.

Lonely? I'm here all the while?!

"(Y/N)-san, whooo is that?" The little boy pointed to Gintoki.

"That's a cotton tree from the cotton planet. He's fluffy but aggressive. Don't come near him. He bites."

"I do."

He snarled unfriendly at the kid and was not even a bit remorseful at his behavior.

After buying a few gardening supplies, the father went back and the kid prattled his farewell:

"Bye-bye (Y/N)-san! I wuuv you!!!"

"I wuuuvv you too!" (Y/N) waved to them and felt the growing wrath behind her. She turned back to find the furious cotton tree and gave him a look full of judgement.

"So you can say you love him but not to me?" His fierce gaze fixed on the girl who calmly returned to work.

"Gin-san, listen to yourself. You're jealous of someone who is one-third your age."

"Because you're an idiot who cannot admit your feeling."

(Y/N) actually laughed at this statement and almost cut down a flower. In term of confidence and persistence you gotta give this man 10 points. After listening in on her conversation with Sarutobi, Gintoki firmly believed that (Y/N) loved him and he was determined to pry it out of her. At least that was what he told himself.

"And you're an idiot who don't know when to quit, Sakata-san."

Gintoki's irritation was heightened to a new height when the rich witch stepped into the scene, followed her was a slightly younger girl with brown hair, who looked timid and introduced herself as Ari, Miki's research assistant.
