too old

i'm too old to be crying
everyday
i tell myself
it gets better
there won't be a hurricane
everyday
but there is
and i've only gotten better
at painting
but behind the beauty
is a broken village
oh how i wish i can just cry
without a care in the world
like i used to
but i'm too old
to put up that front
and show the world that you're there
