Fragile, Innocent, and Scared

Chapter 2

Flora's P.O.V

            It was dead silent. Shouldn't the Alpha and Axen be introducing each other? Curious, I turned my head to take a small glance at the Alpha. When I did I froze, and not in the good way. This big, bulky, tall man was shaking with anger. No not anger, rage. I tensed up in Axen's arms, but he did nothing to comfort me. The alpha was staring right at me. Not Axen or Evan or even Emma. Nope just me. Was I too weak and cowardly to be in his presence? Did I offend him in some way? "Emma I'm scared, he won't stop staring at me" I mind linked Emma. "Hey, hey look at me" she said back in my head. I brought my eyes away from the alpha to look at Emma. "Come with me and we'll go to the guest house with the others." She looked me in the eye and I nodded slowly.

            The alpha growled and I jumped from Axen's arms. Axen and Evan looked at me wide eyed and pushed me behind them. "You have to calm down" Evan said to the Alpha in a hushed tone. The alpha responded with a growl and tried to reach out to grab me. I whimpered and stepped back. Does he want to hurt me? What did I do to make him so angry? He growled lowly and went to grab me again when Emma tugged me out of the way. She brought her hands around my waist and lifted me off the ground. "Be safe" Axen warned the both of us before she took off running towards the guest house. A loud growl ripped through the air before we ran into the house. Since Emma was the fastest runner and had Gamma blood in her, we reached it in no time.

            Once we were in the house, Emma and I went to a bedroom furthest away from the entrance and we sat on a bed. "Emma why was he so mad at me" I asked and hugged my knees to my chest. "Flora" she said calmly and moved so that she sat behind me. She gathered all my hair in her hands and started to braid it, just like my mother had whenever I was upset. "Alpha Sebastian wasn't mad at you, he was mad at Axen." I gasped slightly, "Why" I asked somewhat fearing the answer, but somewhat wanting to know it. "Well sweat pea, he was angry because he was holding you." My eyebrows wrinkled together and bit my lip. "Why" I asked again. She sighed, "Flora you should not freak out but, he is your mate." My eyes widened and I turned around, still aware that Emma was holding my hair.

            "That can't be right. Mom said I would never have a mate" I whispered out.

Sebastian's P.O.V

            I was furious to say when my mate was pushed behind the alpha and beta. She deserved to be in my arms, in my hold. "Calm down, you have to calm down." The alpha spoke in a quiet tone. My wolf was pushing for me to grab her and so I tried. Key word tried. I missed her tiny arm twice. After that she was gone. Just in the blink of an eye, gone. I stood up straight and looked around. Noticing the blond girl was gone to and glared at the alpha and beta. "Where is my mate" I growled out taking a step towards them. They took a step back with fear in their eyes. You never mess with someone's mate, let alone an Alpha's. "She is safe" the beta spit out quickly. "Why did you take her away from me" I roared in absolute outrage. "Because you were scaring the absolute sh*t out of her." Alpha Evan yelled back. My eyes widened and I took a step back. I was scaring my own mate and never noticed? "What" I whispered out. I felt like I had to find her, to comfort her. "Listen, Flora's parents were killed two years ago. Ever since she has been scared and fragile. One mishap or wrong word said and she breaks down. She used to be a brave and confident girl. One of our best fighters actually. She can't escape the constant torment of her parents death when she's awake. Her dreams even haunt her from it." The alpha finished off yelling and looking mad.

            "I had no idea" I said feeling my heart break a little. "Well now you know. We took her away from you because you beta over here already scared her. Then you growling at me didn't help the situation." the beta said with a look of disgust on his face as he glared at Chris. My beta had already scared her? I turned to my beta with anger. "What did you do to her" I growled out. "I'm sorry alpha I didn't know she was your mate" he spit out quickly. "Tell me" I said lowly. "I called her weak" I groaned in frustration and bull-dozed past my beta.  "Where are you going" I heard the alpha call. "To my mate" I yelled back as I walked towards the guest house.
