Fragile, Innocent, and Scared

Chapter 16

Flora's P.O.V

            I woke up to a strong feeling of heat beside me, meanwhile I shivered from being so far away from it. I wanted to move closer but for some reason my wolf did not. She felt as if it was wrong, but I felt as if it was right. Why am I so contradictory about this? Still feeling tired I fell back asleep.

Liam's P.O.V (:o)

            I lie on my side as I watched my soon to be mate sleep. She was absolutely beautiful in every single way, and she was all mine. I might have to send out some men to kill the other male who had marked what was rightfully mine. He should have never laid a finger on her. Let alone his disgusting lips. I brushed my fingers through her hair, tugging softly on tangles every now and then. She slept peacefully, no nightmares, no crying, nothing. Light breaths came from her lips as her chest rose and fell. An angel is what she is.

            We should have kept her the one night when Draymen killed her 'father' and mother. After all I had been the one to shoot her. Draymen thought that I wouldn't have the guts to. After it was all over Draymen congratulated me. He had said that I would be the future alpha and that it took a lot of guts to harm your future luna. Now that I look at her, I can't stand the thought of it. I'm still furious over the burns on her inner thigh, the bruises that line up her stomach, all the pain and injuries that her small body carries.

            As I was staring at her she made an adorable whimper and moved closer to me. Either she thought I was the one guy who had marked her before and wanted to be closer or the mark was taking effect and she was wanting to be closer. She had her head on my bare chest and had her small arms wrapped around me. She was cuddling me like a teddy bear. I smiled to myself at the sight. Just then I heard alpha Draymen mind-link me, "Can I come in." He was the alpha and all, but he knew I liked my privacy and especially with my little mate sleeping with me. She has yet to even wake up since I first lay eyes on her.

            "You may come in" I mind linked back and the bedroom door opened. Draymen entered the room and closed the door behind him. "Li..." He began but stopped as he saw Flora sleeping soundly on my chest. Her legs had just barely wrapped around my waist and she held me tight. Draymen walked over to the end of the bed and smiled, he actually looked happy. "The mark is taking effect eh." I simply smirked, I knew she would eventually go into heat. "How long before she goes into heat?" We spoke softly not to wake up Flora. Draymen cocked his head to the side in thought.

            "I don't know how powerful the other man had been to mark her..." My smirk turned to a angry snarl. I would have growled, but was cut short when I felt Flora shift in my arms. I looked down at her and my snarl vanished completely, she already has that affect on me. I turned back to Draymen to see his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. "She twitched." Noticing I was confused Draymen explained. "She didn't move closer to you voluntarily, her body twitched. Normally she-wolfs twitch when they're close to starting their heat. Their wolves are trying to get as close to the male as possible, even in their sleep."

"How long?" I questioned him again. "She had been marked previously and by the mark I would suspect it was another alpha...Since she hadn't been fully mated to him she would have had to been close to heat." "How do you know she wasn't fully mated to him?" Draymen glanced over at me and then back to his daughter. "Her body would have rejected your mark." oh. "and since you have marked her just last night, that would be her second mark. Which also means that since you are next in line to be alpha, alpha blood and power already radiate through your veins and body. Therefore this would speed up the heat time. If the other werewolf had been an alpha that would be a double slam..."

            I waited patiently for his answer, although my wolf was jumping around my head in circles. Which can get quite annoying and painful. I blocked him out and focused back on Draymen. "...This could mean that she could start today." I smirked and looked down at the beautiful girl on top of me. "Mated in a day, that would be a record in history." I whispered out with a light chuckle. Brushing my thumb over her cheek her body suddenly twitched again. "Looks like you are going to make history today." Draymen chuckled. He then left the room and I marveled at how Flora tried to get even closer to me. Smiling I let both my hands rest on her bum and held her close. Tonight will be one hell of a night.
