Akko x Child!Reader: Everyone needs Joy

Summary: Being the youngest member of the Cavendish family isn't as easy as you think it would be. You're just a kid already thrown into the world of adults. But during your stay with your big sister you encounter someone who makes you forget the drama and turns your focus back on being what you always were; a child that just wants fun.

Akko was more attentive then she ever was in the morning, not even her beloved pickled plums could distract her from the sight permitting Blue team. And how could she? More than half if not the entire student mass in the cafeteria was just as perplexed with what was in front of them, more specifically sitting next to Luna Nova's beloved goody two-shoes and Akko's self-proclaimed rival.

A child.

Quietly munching on his breakfast while Diana sipped her tea like always, though it couldn't be denied he was getting nervous from all the stares. Glancing back and forth while trying to make himself as small as possible. Akko couldn't help but pity the kid.
Before she could do anything however, Hannah, Akko's worst bully and enemy stood up from her chair and turned to the gob smacked crowd. If anger had a picture she would be it.

"DO YOU CREEPS NEED ANYTHING OR ARE YOU GONNA BUG OFF ALREADY?!"
In an instant everyone including Akko turned their backs away from the furious girl, even those who based on how their chair stood that forced them to look in Blue team's general distraction turned away, having to sheepishly turn back again so they could finish their breakfast. As embarrassing as it looked Akko couldn't help but feel grateful for what Hannah did. Sadly the child didn't look any better even with Hannah and Barbara's cooing, Akko was curious who this child was, why he was here and why he looked so sad. She was however afraid Hannah's protective attitude would dampen any efforts, but a bully like Hannah hasn't stopped Akko before! And certainly not when it comes to a child and their happiness!

School however had other things to say and forced Akko to attend her class just like anyone else...including the child, who awkwardly sat next to Diana. Even the teachers ignored him! If you thought he'd be a loud mouth that would constantly be a nuisance to the class like Sucy predicted you and her would be wrong. He just sat there looking cute as a button, confusion as he tried to make sense of the texts on the board. You and her both kid...

After that boring lesson they finally got to something Akko could actually practice; Broom riding! After Professor Nelson's short personal lesson the students were free to practice on their own. (something Akko desperately needed, though she swore she was getting very close...just like months ago.)
During Akko's practice she accidentally led herself spinning into the air before falling on the ground, but before she could stand up and get back to her fruitful training she couldn't help but notice the boy that had been next to Diana all-day except for now, sitting all alone on the sides of the field. He looked almost...depressed...

You sat on the bench where your big sister tasked you to stay put as she went back to focusing on her witch lessons. You couldn't help but feel lonely, wishing someone could spend some time with you as selfish as it sounded. Diana's friends were nice for a while but eventually had to take care of their own responsibilities, something you couldn't and wouldn't blame them for. You were taught not to be.

Yet as you toyed with the ears of your favorite stuffed animal-one of the few items you were allowed to take with you before you had to go, you couldn't help but allow that selfishness to stay. Of course you would never voice them out, it would be unruly as everyone around you told you...
