I'm In Love With A Sociopath {Kai Parker}

Chapter 5

After another long plane ride with Kai, we were now on the road.

I tell kai I need new clothes and after a lot of bickering, he finally agrees.

As we finally reach the store I get out of the car.

I start looking around and find some nice outfits. I laugh at how different things looked in 1994 versus present time.

I go to the cash register but realize that no one is there. Huh?

"You do realize you don't have to pay right," Kai laughs.

"Right," I say embarrassed.

As we get close to the Salvatore house Kai starts eating from a bag of pork rinds he got from the store.

"Could you stop," I say.

"What?"

"Eating so loudly," I say annoyed.

"Well, last I checked it wasn't your prison world so.."

I glare at him.

I take the bag of pork rinds out of his hand and pop one into my mouth. Ew.

He rips the bag out of my hand.

"I've killed people over less you know," he warns.

I just roll my eyes.

"Anyways, why do you think the ascendant is in mystic falls," I ask trying to lighten the mood.

"I honestly I don't know."

I sigh and stare out the window.

...

When we finally arrive kai and I start searching for the ascendant.

I started looking in the upstairs study, nothing. Then all the other rooms, nothing. But I did find Bonnie's teddy bear that I squeezed tightly. It smelled like her and I felt a tear fall down my cheek.

...

"Find Anything," I say while walking down the stairs.

"Nope," Kai says.

I sigh and walk to the kitchen and grab a glass of water.

"So did you ever go to mystic falls," I ask Kai.

"Hmm?"

"I mean in the real world." I clarify.

He thinks for a second.

"Yeah, I guess." he sits down.

"Anywhere specific?" I ask.

"Well, I guess my mom was buried here."

"Oh," is all I manage to say.

"Do you think the ascendant could be where she is buried," I ask.

"Maybe?" He looks down.

...

So back on the road with Kai but I feel oddly tense. I know Kai's a psychopath but visiting your dead mom's grave has to be hard. As I'm enjoying the silence of just the wind peacefully blowing through the air Kai has to ruin that.

"Ok so since we're friends now-

"We're not."

"Anyways why do you act like I'm so evil when you're friends with Damon Salvatore."

"And what is that supposed to mean."

"It means your literally friends with vampires, who kill people."
