It has been a long journey. For all of them. Getting Kara out of the phantom zone was a tiring and emotionally excruciating journey. Everyone was tired. But they had no intentions to stop.

Especially Lena. Since the day Kara was trapped in a cold, heartless place where time didn’t pass, she was working tirelessly to get her out. Even blinking seemed like a waste of time right at that moment.

“Every dimension of Phantom Zone is vibrating at a different frequency, there is no way of knowing where Supergirl might be stuck.”

Brainy was repeating the same sentence for the 20th time.

“Is there a way we can map Phantom Zone?”

“With the technology available in this century? No.”

Lena sighed. They have been going about it for the past 15 hours without taking any break, Their efforts were to no avail. It was an endless loop. Lena poured the sixth cup of coffee, took a sip, and kept analyzing the data in front of her.

Someone else entered the room and looked at both of them working.

“You guys need to go home and get some sleep.”

Alex said and snatched the cup of coffee from Lena’s hand.

“Hey!”

“I am pretty sure I saw you down three cups of coffee before I went home. That’s enough. I know you both think you have something to prove, but right now at least one of you who is a human being needs sleep and recharge.”

“You are severely underestimating me, Danvers.”

“I am not underestimating you, I am just very respectfully pointing out that you as a human need rest and sleep. So, go and sleep.”

“I will, I just need to-”

“You NEED to go and sleep right now. It’s an order.”

“Order? Who is ordering me?”

“An older sister who cares about your health and is very scared of the wrath her sister would bring on her if I let you die in my supervision.”

“First of all, your sister is not going to kill you if I die. She’ll be relieved maybe. Second, why are you the leader of the squad?”

Alex decided to ignore the self-deprecatory remark for now.

“Who here has the highest leadership experience out of us all?”

“I was CEO of two fortune-500 companies, was the founder of a startup I created, I also was the youngest captain of the Mathletes in my school.”

“Okay. Let’s change the question. Who has more experience in handling a team of kids, one of whom is denying to sleep right now because they want to play with their toys?”

“Toys? Toys? This is high end-”

“I am going to stop you right there before you recite all the specifications of the device. But you need to go and sleep, Lena.”

Alex looked at her with a familiar warmth in her eyes.

“Can I sleep here? Sorry, that was- It’s fine. I’ll go home. I am just going to-”

She started rambling without listening to the answer to the question and Alex placed a hand on her shoulder to stop her.

“Yes. Come on.”

Alex said and escorted her towards a room in the far back of the tower.

“Thanks. It’s just, it’s hard. Going to that home where I have shared so many memories with…”
