Sister - Part 3

"Will you please give me a break?"

Lena was angry and not regular angry. She was really angry.

"Okay, Ms Luthor. I will be outside."

Jess retracted from her office. In around ten minutes Skyler was trying to enter with a box in her hand.

"Be careful."

Jess warned her while going inside and she winked in her direction.

"Hey there Sis, 'sup?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Uh oh. Trouble in paradise?"

"Look, if you don't have anything to do please leave. I am not in the mood of talking to you or anyone else."

Skyler just looked at her and went towards her chair and kneeled in front of her.

"What happened?"

The voice, it broke her. She started crying.

In a few minutes, her sobs subsided. She was still sniffing a bit.

"What happened?"

"I and Kara had a fight."

"Kara 'I am an equivalent of labrador puppy' Danvers?"

"Yes, she fought with me in the morning."

"About what?"

"About me working late and not giving her enough time. But I have to work, right? She has hectic work schedules and I never stop her from doing her job."

"Talk about it."

"We talk. We talk a lot actually."

"Talk about your issues. Ragini always says that if your heart is in the right place, there is nothing in the world you can not solve with communicating."

"Ragini as in 'The teacher you slept with' Ragini?"

"I should've never told you that. I am never going to live that down, am I?"

Lena was smiling now.

"Nope. Never. Also, you reek of hospital."

"Oh yes, I just came out of a three-hour-long surgery."

"It's 8 in the morning."

"Yeah, I was on call last night."

"No wonder you don't have a relationship."

"You just had a fight with your girlfriend about not giving her enough time and that is such a rude thing to say to someone."

"Sorry. I am in a really bad mood. Aren't your legs hurting though, you are kneeling in front of me."

"Actually they are, they are hurting a lot. Can we go and sit on the couch please?"

Lena chuckled and nodded.

"So, what are you doing here at 8 in the morning?"

"I guess I sensed your distress."

"You did not."

"No, I didn't. Well, I finally found the best vegan doughnuts in the town and I wanted you to taste them."

"I am so not eating that crap."

"Language and come on. I've had them and they are super tasty. Please, just one."

"No. I am not eating vegan doughnuts."
