Sister - Part 2

The very next morning she bumped into Skyler again.

"Hey there! Here, coffee for you."

"Oh, hey. I didn't know we were meeting today."

"I brought coffee."

She took a sip.

"And you miraculously know my order."

"The girl in the coffee shop told me."

"Was it your charm again?"

"You can say that. Yes."

Skyler had a strikingly different attitude than Lena. She was way more positive.

"How are you so positive? Don't you deal with death every day?"

"If I go into that operation room thinking about death I won't be able to give my hundred percent, would I? It can get overwhelming, but the trick is to keep the emotions and profession separate. If I let every failed surgery I did affect me, I'll never be able to hold the scalpel again."

"That seems like a plausible explanation."

"So, I forgot to ask yesterday, but who was 'we' in the conversation?"

"Oh, that's uh…"

"If you don't want to tell me that's fine. I mean I guess I'll find out on the game night anyways. Right?"

"No. It's fine. It's my girlfriend. Kara."

"That's great. I will have to meet this Kara now."

"As you said, you are going to meet her for the game night."

"Yeah, and now I gotta run, bye."

She went but not before giving Lena a brief hug. It was nice. Having a younger sister. Lena always wanted someone to rant to and rant about.

On game night Lena called everyone way before Skyler. Everyone came and they were still waiting for Alex and Kelly when finally there was a knock on the door.

Kara opened the door while asking, 

"There you are, why are you so late?"

"We just got a little distracted when I was…"

"Okay, that's enough information for now. Come on in."

"Is someone going to tell what is the motive behind this meeting?"

Brainy asked.

"Do you all remember how I told you that I have a sister?"

"Yes, Lena. You have a sister, she is a neurosurgeon in National City General, she is smart and she is coming for game night. We have been over this six times already."

Alex mocked Lena with a fake accent.

"This is exactly what I don't want you to do today."

"What?"

"How to put this nicely? You guys can be a little intimidating sometimes."

"Are you saying that we are over the top Luthor?"

"If you want to put it in that terminology, yes. Yes, you guys are really over the top."

"That hurt right here Luthor, right here." 

Alex dramatically pointed towards the right side of her chest.

"Has she been drinking already? Not a single drop of alcohol for you after this."
